BBC Reporting

Anyone else find the BBC's reporting of the CWC missing?

And now, not even a line about the wonderful gesture the team have made to Jota and Silva families ?

Doesn't seem fair to me.

There's literally page after page on the BBC site regarding our win. If you type "Chelsea club world cup" into the general news search bar you'll find it . Like under the headline below for example. If you go to the football sports section and look for our club you get loads of articles about all Chelsea related stuff. .

"We've never seen a team do this to PSG' - how Chelsea won Club World Cup"

Because the BBC are complete dinosaurs and never on top of anything.

Mind you , I looked in disbelief at a headline on their news app this morning

"Man arrested for throwing a sandwich at a Federal Agent in Washington DC '

Incredible!!

I didn't hear about that - Not been mentioned yet but I imagine it will be. Class gesture from the club and I hope it gets the appreciation it deserves.

BBC reported on the CWC loads and generally it was very positive for Chelsea (as well it should be). That being said, the CWC was nearly a month ago and I understand why they're not continuing to report on it - transfer talk and start of the PL season is bigger news which will generate more clicks.

Are you good people of the Shed End Forum still using BBC services ? 😂😂

I remember their Breaking News...being about 48 hours after an event is it still the same?

And that's on a good day!

Check out the BBC's coverage of The Hundred. Embarrassingly amateurish.

I don't seriously follow cricket so I didn't even know what the Hundred is. I read about it in " Outside Cricket" and this was a section in a very long articles about it....I think I've read something like this maybe even on here ? 😂

"now, the ECB and counties have total control of The Hundred. They can add and remove teams, rename them, change the schedule or format, even scrap the whole thing if they wanted. The moment an outside investor becomes involved, every one of these things becomes significantly more difficult. Wealthy people don’t just hand over large sums of money without contracts and safeguards in place to protect their investments, which will ultimately mean any changes to the competition going forward would need to be negotiated with shareholders who only care about making more money for themselves "

I would ditch the licence this second if I could. The only thing on tv I watch these days is football, but seeing as I still need a licence to do that, I'm trapped. I've disliked the BBC for a very long time now. The Jimmy Saville coverup, their pompous, full of themselves presenters, their absolute sh*t tv shows. I see no justification in basically forcing us to pay for this sh*t anymore. It's like they feel they're entitled to it and consider the BBC an essential piece of living in the UK. Well I don't see it that way, there would be no negative impact on my life if I never set eyes on anything BBC related again.

The BBC are on borrowed time, a compulsory payment for a very mediocre service, with part of our payments going to a list of disgraced and or controversial people who i wont bother naming. If any of us tried to run a business based on the above i think we would struggle.

There are many other news services available that arent so biased, out of touch and just late on delivery.

BBC Verify ...the arrogance of it. Its not genuine until they say so.

I m looking forward to it becoming a subscription service, people will then be able to choose.

Don't get me started on BBC verify. I remember that Marianna Spring announcing it. It felt so patronising, like they think we need the BBC to tell us what is and what isn't real.

However bad the BBC is , it'll NEVER be as bad as GB News,, ever 😂

At least I'm not forced to pay £174.50 per year for GB News to exist. The TV license is one of the most immoral and unnecessary taxes we have in the U.K. and the sooner it's abolished the better.

I agree And criminal prosecutions were outrageous. It's not a criminal offence anymore though. These days it should be a choice . I didn't have a licence for a while way back when there was no computer records of anything. I sort of recognised the guy who came to the door. I told him I didn't have a telly. He asked if he could come in ! I said no , and refused to give my name. Next day I went to the local post office to get a licence and the f**ker was one of the clerks working behind the counter !

When I working in the Post Office Engineer Dept I knew someone who worked on the TV detector vans . He said they would just drive around an area for a few days which would result in loads of licences being purchased. And people would stop the van occasionally to grass up their neighbours. !! .

Info

BBC have become incredibly weak / toothless when it comes to winning recent sporting event coverage, even compared to some of the independent channels.

Fomula 1 🙄 even CH4 have a few races live and highlights of the others.

Club World Cup we had to rely on the mighty CH5 to cover this event with several live games.

Tennis Wimbledon wow 2 channels sadly not additional/temporary channels but blocking off their normal services. 🙄 while Eurosport had 17 ( seventeen courts with live coverage )

Athletics Olympics some live and sneakily delayed live coverage preferring to show their pundits chatting in the studio.

very poor.

I don't know why they don't use BBC 4 for tennis. It's sitting there all day doing f**k all !

I mean when it was going on...

In the Headlines - First Page - either Premiership or Football - nothing - all I found on their main Football Page was European Girlies stuff.

On the Chelsea page you can find their articles but I wouldn't say they covered it - put it together from other news after the event perhaps.

I find the saville stuff a mad reason to hate on the BBC.

To me it's like saying "I don't watch movies because Hollywood covered up Harvey Weinstein"

The people involved are all gone.

For my money the BBC is incredible. 13 quid a month for radio, TV, website etc. Better value than anything else.

Will be sad when it's inevitably destroyed because of the capitalist campaign against it.

I used to watch a lot of BBC from my neck of the woods, they're were some great documentaries and historical programmes on. Now all I occasionally watch is Match of the Day when we've done well and Liverpool have lost 😄 The quality of programming seems to have disappeared. Mind you, in my own country funding for good programmes has all but dried up too, so it's a problem across the board.

It's not just the BBC, the Australian ABC (our local version of the BBC) has all the same issues (poor programming that's out of touch with audiences, prioritising pushing political messaging over integrity, defence of powerful interests that overlap with pedophilia, etc)
