Next manager looks like Gary ONeil or Fabian Hurzeler. The up and coming seasoned managers seem to be not the right fit for Blue co, neither do the big name managers. Were any of the touted candidates seriously considered along with Rosenior in January?

Gary ONeil looks like an obvious choice, in fact slightly better pedigree than Rosenior and already installed in the feeder club, Strasbourg

Hurzeler has been in place a while seemingly doing an ok / good job plus has the Brighton link which the SDs are comfortable with.

I cant see beyond these two.

- a further plus for ONeil is that he can hardly turn the job down (like Rosenior) and as such the SDs avoid any nasty rejections which could openly question their strategy.

Better pedigree in what regard? Managed less games and has a lower win percentage.

I do try and give managers a bit of time, even the ones I didn't want like Maresca and Rosenior, but I think we all know this isn't gonna work. The term 'out of his depth' gets thrown around a lot in football but Rosenior is well out of his depth. I think 99% of us knew this would be a sh*t appointment and that's how it's proving to be, I don't like anyone to lose their jobs this early but we are at major risk of missing out on CL football and while Rosenior is here I just don't see us getting it.

Will probably need to win at least 5 if not 6 of the last 8 PL games to have any chance of CL qualification.

A lot will hinge on whether English clubs stay ahead of the pack in the UEFA points table, to secure that 5th placed qualification spot.

Us and City going out last night won't help. Expect them to be joined by Tottenham and Newcastle tonight, and maybe even Liverpool.

We'll have to hope the German and Spanish clubs don't do deep in the various comps, but even then we will still need to win a lot of games that look difficult ...

BEST THAT WE DONT GET CL FOOTBALL, ONLY WAY TO KICK BLUECO OUT

They won't blink an eyelid. We're up against 5 billionaires and a huge private equity fund ... money really isn't an issue, and they'll easily justify this as a minor blip in a long-term plan.

Perhaps focussing on the "embarrassment" factor is a better strategy ? No-one likes to be a laughing stock ... especially those with huge egos ...

Perhaps Blue co will see his management history has him involved with better clubs than Rosenior. And the same with their respective playing career's. In any case ONeil may be in competition with Huzeler for the position. It's unlikely that he will be with Rosenior for his position although I wouldn't rule out Rosenior applying for his old job.😂

At this point in time, the manager is irrelevant.

The club is rotten from the top.

Even if we went and got Klopp, with this squad and with the directives from above, it’d be like giving Valentino Rossi a Vespa and then wondering why he isn’t podiuming every GP.

Potter (Untested at the top level, realistically speaking) Poch (2nd tier manager, never elite) Super Frank (The sun shines out his arse I will not hear a bad word said against the man) Maresca (Championship level manager with a sh*te philosophy) Rosenior (Up & Coming manager but again Championship level)

Look at the hiring pattern, those c**ts won’t change that, they won’t get someone in, a Klopp, or a Conte even, someone with that bit of gravitas in the game, who is going to immediately point out how unbelievably sh*t these SD’s are at their jobs and every issue they’ve created with their squad building. It’s self preservation, keep appointing, essentially no bodies who will just be ‘thankful’ for the opportunity.

Honestly for as long as Clearlake’s claws are in this club we are finished competing for anything worthwhile.

This is Gary O'Neil's win stats as a manager (from wikipedia), check the % win in the PL, he'll be the owners' choice for sure given how they seem to go from bad to worse lol

I didnt think Blue Co would review things like win ratio for a manager, they have already ( Finklestein allegedly) said that a managers presence doesnt really affect team performance or results or something similar.

I do believe they will favour his presence at two premier league teams though along with Huzelers presence at the mighty Brighton as a plus for them as the next manager. Sensible logical progression from our very accomplished SDs everytime.

Liam Rosenior is a good manager and he should have stayed at Strasbourg for a few years and got some real experience together. Now his career takes a nose dive.

Do not be too disheartened : Our owner are better than the owner of Man U and they are doing better. We have the much better players than Man U.

We need a manager with real genuine experience. Fabregaas is not ready yet.

There is a major proviso. The manager - no, make that the coach - has to accept a limited role, below the owners and SDs in terms of decision making. Tuchel and Poch both rejected the notion, Maresca accepted it until he decided he didn't like it. Where is the experienced, quality manager who will accept the limited brief?

Exactly. There isn't one.

And anyone else who takes the job is just doing it for the CV listing and the pay off.

Some poor sod in the Championship or in Germany/France.

Minus the quality.

Yep. Lets just get Jose back for a third time. At least we will have a laugh.

The owners and SDs would sh*t their pants.

Yes failing to beat Qarabag, about to have us exit the CL and outside of European places was a miracle.

3-0 win in a final over PSG to 3-0 and 5-2 back to back defeats in the space of 8 months is pretty miraculous downturn to be fair.

He was struggling at the end but your 2nd two points aren’t even true.

I mean its very obvious that these two games have proven that PSG underestimated us in the CWC final. We won because of their failure, not our greatness. The only reason we even made the final is because Flamengo completely embarrassed us. We would have been out to Bayern Munich in the first knock out round if not for Maresca's failure.

We were 1-0 down in the conference league final until Palmer decided to stop listening to Maresca's tactics as he's admitted.

Maresca failed to even beat Qarabag who Newcastle humiliated.

He wouldn't last a week here, there would be omelette talk after the 1st training session.

What's the point? Players aren't gonna turn into world beaters under a different manager

A part of me is starting to think that the biggest reason why we played such a rigid system under Maresca was to protect how poor our defence is.

Saw a stat that Rosenior has only been here 2 months and half the goals we've conceded all season, were under him.
