I understand that this might seem strange to you, but FYI his stats are exceptional.

No one here wants to see him leave, regardless of the transfer fee.

He absolutely must help us get back into Europe.

It will be early enough this summer that we'll see Premier League clubs, Bayern Munich, and some Spanish clubs (and also PSG) battling it out with tens of millions to sign him.

Our club is financially sound. Our owner is a billionaire... We have other very good young players who will bring in a lot of money. We're not in a rush.

Don't forget that our academy has produced Dembele, Camavinga, Doué, Tel, Ugochukwu.... and just this week it was ranked the 4th best academy in Europe.

Do us a favour and keep him

I wonder if that means one of the other CBs are leaving.

  • Fofana

  • Trev

  • Tosin

  • Badders

  • Colwill

  • Josh

And now Jacquet. 7. Too many

Trev and Tosin both have 2 years left on their deals and are pure profit, the club will undoubtably be looking to sell them when they can.

Fofana and Badders cost too much to be worth shifting annoyingly.

With great pleasure!

I read that our owner (*), although he lives in London, really likes this player and wants to keep him (still with the aim of be qualified for the European Cup).

But if Blueco is capable of doing anything, that would give us plenty of room for future signings.

The FBREF scouting report :

Not sure this is a £60m player ... and certainly not for someone with such limited career experience (<2500 top tier minutes)

Then again, this is Mamadou Sarr LOL

We really can pick 'em

That's the one ... been a huge fan ever since my first viewings of Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn LOL

Not sure what she's like at centre back, even at age 59, but who cares !

Feel like she more of a 2 up front kinda a gal from what I've seen.

Is Jacquet really coming though. Been down this road of bo**ocks so many times. Just because the player has agreed terms, it means nothing with our negotiating team.

Yep,

We agree personal terms with the player.

The player tells the club he wants to join us.

We are still £10m apart from agreeing a fee with the selling club.

Media briefing “Chelsea are happy to wait until the summer or move onto other targets”

Chelsea want the player to put pressure on the club to let him leave and agree a price with us.

Then we either move on to a cheaper and worse alternative, media brief “we are happy with our squad” if we don’t buy anyone, or buy him right at the end of the window for more or less the same price we refused to pay a couple of weeks earlier.

Yep, we’ve seen it all before.

The same exact thing happened with Gittens lmao. Tried reducing the asking price, waited weeks, ended up paying the original asking price and Gittens had zero to no preseason training.

These lot are terrible negotiators.

They've broadly done ok when selling players, but seem to leave their brains at home when it comes to acquisitions ...

Watched some videos of Jaquet. Only so much my untrained eye can pick up. Pros - seems to have good anticipation, reading, tackling, reach and passing.

Concerns - he lunges with a lot of tackles from a stationary position, relying on timing. If he misses he is on the ground with limited recovery - reminds me of Trev in that regard. Also for his size he didn't seem that quick - looked like he took a while to build speed but that might be way off.

I left 20 mins of videos thinking why not just give the playing time to Josh, or Sarr. And all these 20 year olds, despite their talents, are in desperate need of mentorship and learning from those that have more experience. If we spend £60M or so on Jaquet then its another baffling signing to me up there with Mudryk and Gittens.

Bob made a good point. The SDs likely view Fofana and Colwill as the “experience”. They aren’t going to bring a CB on high wages and no resale.

They’re hoping Sarr, Jaquet and Josh learn off of them.

That will please @just - sounds like David Luiz all over again - but without the cheeky grin that used to win us all over!
