Yeah, it was just announced on Talksport. Shame in a way, because he looked a good prospect when we bought him. Let's face it though, he's been given plenty of opportunities but failed to live up to expectations.

Not a great loss, he has potential but isn't that good defensively and suffers from a loss of concentration at times.

I'm kind of glad we lost him instead of e.g. Diarra. Diarra have looked good everytime JM has played him.

He was a surplus at the club and wasn't needed and now he'll get to play a lot more, so it's a win/win outcome for both parties.

he's an idiot and doesn't deserve to be at the club...he's had his chance and clearly didn't work hard enough to take it...i'm not just referring to that pathetic excuse for a tackle against birmingham which confirmed to jose that he just didn't have it...things like nicking toilet seats shows he could just be another jody morris...has talent but nothing between the ears

While I'm not really bothered by his departure, I honestly don't think ? 3M is a reallistic value.

He's not the best on the world, far from it, but how many decent Rb's are there, english, young, better then him ?

With the usuall "you're english" tag, we should've got at least the double.

If he'd been playing regularly in an average team for the last couple of seasons and we wanted them, he would have cost at least double what we got for him. But I thought ?3-?4m for a player that never plays for us is not too bad a bit of business.

I'm only guessing here, but it's possible that Portsmouth were given some kind of discount, having already paid his wages during the time he spent on loan at Fratton Park.

I would agree with Barn that ?3m is probably about right especially when many would argue that he has actually gone backwards in the past year or so. There was a time when he was breaking into th England squad and people were tipping him to be the English right back for the foreseeable however now he is a long way from being an England regular. Also it would appear that Pompey were the only team showing a genuine interest in him so there was no real scope for pushing up the price by playing teams against each other.

A shame it didn't work out for him with us as we bought him young and he came with a lot of potential. I hope he gets his career firmly back on track at Pompey.

Very disappointed that hes going, in know we havnt seen beletti play yet but Glen did have talent and his only mistake so far was that pathetic tackle that we ended up conceding from. I hope he proves everyone wrong and gets his carrer back on track at pompey.

Probably will join the long list of players failing or standing still after their time at Chelsea - shame but he only has himself to blame he needed to give 250% not 95% but I really wish him well and hope he proves his doubters wrong.

Sorry to see Glen go.Most people seem to have forgot how good he looked in his first season.Not the cleverest of players but had every attribute needed to be moulded into a top class player.I know criticism of Mourinho isn't that fashionable on this forum(and usually rightly so)but this is probably the laziest piece of management i've seen.We've sold potentially the best fullback in the country for a 31 year old reserve who as far as i can see has only been signed to spite sevilla.That said i hope i'm wrong and Belleti goes on to nail the rb spot down as his own over the season!

Chelsea's transfer policy sh*ts me.......

We've sold a fantastically talented and gifted young right back whose got the potential to be completely world class based on mostly on the fact we don't have the patience to develop the weak areas of his game (positioning and the like which are all things which can be developed upon).

We've also sold one of the more promising young defensive midfielders going around and a player who will probably have us regretting his sale for years to come now his at Arsenal.

And we've replaced them with one old, decent but nothing special right back whose best years are behind him, is arguably no better than we allready have (well had) at the club and possibly costs more than the price we got for the both of them combined.

Sad to see him go, and coupled with Diarra this is really a loss of two young possible stars. Favourite memory of him was his goal against the 2-3 thriller up at Ewood where he composed himself wonderfully to volley a shot on the turn into the blackburn net! Then was tackled by melchiot, adn got cramp!

Im Glad hes gone, just not a good enough player for Chelsea.

Ive always thought of him as a liability any time i've seen him on the teamsheet.
