Agree with mhlover. The thing about this fella Drogba is that he is irreplaceable in our system. Zlatan? No. Benzema? Maybe if he grows a spine or two extra. Falcao? Come on. Torres? Well, we've tried that.

Any other striker coming in will require a change of play. We simply cannot park the bus and lump it up to the striker anymore. Positive? I think so. This will give room for Sturridge, Piazon, Josh and other academy players who's not *that* physically strong. Our philosophy the last eight years simply doesn't go hand in hand with youth recruitment, simples pimples.

As much as I hate to see Drogba leave I'm actually a bit looking forward to it as well. I love the way we won the CL this year, because it was the only way to do it, but the next season I would really like us to play to Mata, Torres, Ramires, Luiz and the youngsters "game" (read: the "new" spine); more technical, faster passing and blistering counters with General Lampard as the director.

As for the "new striker chase", I really do think that Torres will blossom with a change of style and better passers in the team. He is by far the "cheapest" solution we can go for with that amount of potential. However, I would really like to see a guy like Schurrle coming in. Main choice as a winger but can play the striker role. And Sturridge will also get his chances and starts as CF.

i agree schurrle looks promising, might be expensive as hes on a 4 year deal or something. Assuming we dont sign anyone else (seems unlikely), this would be my first team but with perhaps ramires on the right and marin/KDB alternating depending on form. id love to see our kaka (piazon) come through too and josh, though im annoyed swansea didnt play him enough.

The only reason a Mario Gomez scores so many goals is because of wingers like Ribery and Robben. If Chelsea would bring in a Hazard and a Schurlle this could at least keep Torres a competitive 15 goal a year scorer and hopefully more.

Already have 11 this year and 7 in 10 starts under RDM. Don't want to jinx it, but I still thinks he's good enough for the Golden Boot title.

From Torres official website, knew balague was a twat.

- Why aren´t you happy at Chelsea?

At Chelsea I am very happy and I never said the opposite. I still have a lot to do in this club, meet personal goals, confidence to return and love to thank. It has been a difficult year, I didn´t play much and my mind was like a roller coaster. I felt bad, very bad and I would not like to feel that way again. But I have never surrendered and I never will.

Sounds so heart broken. Don't know if his heart can take it anymore.
