I get the feeling Rajkovic will be back here with us, even after we buy Cahill.

He is now getting regular games for Serbia and Vidic is done playing for the NT. I think by the summer he might have the required number of caps.
Hope so. He looked good, from the little I saw of him.

Yep but this is about speculating on promising talent, budget, development and investment in the hope that some come through big - fingers in pies...

Yes, a thousand times yes. It's about developing young talent and not buying more expensive, more experienced players. Frank Arnesen failed. But the policy, which I'm convinced begins with Roman, goes foward as it should.

It's immensely difficult to project the future succes of most very young players, in any sport. There will be a lot of misses. As Fast Eddie says, it's all about volume (the big kind, not the loud kind.)

We do indeed have a buy back clause on Rajkovic in the hope that one day he will be allowed a work permit to play for us. Currently the authorities won't let him have one and this is the only reason he isn't already with us.

Plus we have young Tomas Kalas on loan at Vitesse and he is very solid at the back.

Apparently he made his debut this weekend, and here is what We Ain't Got No History wrote about him:

"Kenneth Omeruo - As mentioned above, Omeruo finally got his paperwork sorted and made his debut over the weekend. He was immediately inserted into the starting lineup and responded with an absolutely fantastic debut. Den Haag drew 0-0, but the impressive play of Omerou is a large reason they even gained a point from the contest. If Saturday was any indication, Michael Emenalo has struck gold again. I think it's fair to say he's pretty firmly established himself as a starter with that performance."

I like him much more than Rajkovic, he's a very good prospect.

The boy is a no nonsense defender, calm headed on the pitch and already being speculated to make his 1st senior appearance before the year ends with Nigeria senior team

This is from an update on him a couple weeks ago:
  • Kenneth Omeruo - I was actually kind of glad that PvA wasn't involved in this one after seeing Omeruo just torture the Vitesse left side. I've been a bit critical of Omeruo in attack, but in 2 games this week he was absolutely sensational. He scored his first goal in the 3-0 victory over Groningen on Thursday before being equally exceptional from the right back slot against Vitesse. Wow...just wow. I still think he's best suited at CB or as a holder, but he looked an awful lot like Branislav Ivanovic this week.
His loan is an 18 month loan, so he will be back in the Netherlands for next season as well. He's apparently looked real solid over at ADO, and hopefully he continues that development next year.

The thing I like about this bloke is that he has the Nigerian physique. Strong, very quick and a great tackler. If he can work on his positioning skills and his ball control we have ourselves a good player for the future.
