One thing I will give Arteta credit for, is how has purposefully built a physically strong, and mostly tall, side. I remember him saying once he preferred to have players who were a decent size and had good athleticism and physicality. I think that is exactly what is needed in the EPL.

Similar view for me. We were largely second best for the whole game bar a few short periods. However they are a far better team than us just now and we are very earky in a rebuild from what has been an extended period of sh*te. We were never fixing the weaknesses in our squad in one window but it has been a good start.
We are never competing for the title this season however we are on the right track and will need to be a bit patient.

Really solid game today. Was good both defending and going forwards. First half he got very little defensive support from Neto and sometimes had to cover two players. He looked disappointed to be subbed for the last 20 minutes but he had run his race by then.

Caicedo & Lavia SHOULD be our starting CM pair IF both are fit, yes we could maybe strengthen with a signing for the depth options.

Tbf what's Alonso meant to do with that midfield? Caicedo obviously not fit and Enzo about to be sold. Palestra has been brought in to play RWB and he isn't fit yet so we've whacked Neto there who can't defend.

Deary me, the happiness I felt in the first half quickly diminished in the second half. Very pleased with the win, but still a lot of work to do on the training ground. A bit worried about Caicedo...
