  1. Amazing that people want to see the back of someone who is arguably the greatest midfielder Chelsea have ever had, someone who has broken all kinds of records scoring from midfield, someone who was instrumental in winning Premier League titles, and most relevant of all, someone who greatly helped us do what no club from London had ever done before in winning the CL. Lampard to stay and go into coaching (he's a very, very intelligent and hard working footballer, so would suit the role well IMO) is my preferred scenario by a mile.
  2. Glad that's the third kit and not the away kit! Really, really liking both the home and away this season.
  3. Got this from my (Spurs supporting) friend earlier: Fernando Torres Chelsea's number 9!!!!
  4. I love Kalou and hope he does well after he leaves us, so its disappointing to hear him being linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, hopefully he will move back to Holland or to France after all!
  5. On the one hand, £13m is a very good amount for a 34 year old. On the other hand, no f**king way would I sell Lampard for any amount of money!
  6. Loving those, thank you! By the way, this is a great site for saving YouTube videos (I've already downloaded two versions of the final in full, and now have 6 YouTube videos too!) http://keepvid.com/
  7. Of course, I'd like to add when we look back at this in a decade, it'll be full of lots of other amazing CL moments and a few more trophies ;-)
  8. Something we can come back to in a week, a month, a year... a decade (Loz/Mod - hopefully you keep this wonderful site running long beyond that) and reminisce over what was possibly the greatest night in our history. I'll start with this gem I just found, it's 18 minutes long, and details our journey (and heartbreak, the clips from the 2008 still made me feel sick today) to finally landing the CL trophy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgX82OTfBic&feature=related
  9. Yes, but it was very rare Malouda was played as a winger last season, he was mostly played on the left of a 4-3-3 formation in midfield
  10. Yup, definitely Aguero (f**king gutted that we missed out on him) Of our own, I think it'd have to be Juan Mata
  11. Anyone who is glad that Beckham isn't in the Olympic team is either: 1) Utterly clueless about football 2) Completely heartless 3) Both of the above
  12. Not going to happen: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1368523/Dont-join-Chelsea-Christian-Eriksens-dad-fires-stark-warning-worlds-teenagers.html
  13. Couldn't agree more with Davey, to say Beckham is overrated is just silly (your getting his fame confused with how people perceive his footballing ability) and honestly I think it's pretty f**king appalling he's been snubbed by team GB. It's unfair to compare him against those players too, Zidane and 'fat' Ronaldo as you put it are two of the most naturally gifted players the game has ever seen, the fact that Beckham achieved what he did through sheer hard work is testament to his character, and as Davey said that determination and work-rate was always evident on the pitch too. As a Chelsea fan, with Lampard who also got to the very top through sheer determination, persistence and hard work I'd have thought we'd all be able to appreciate someone like Beckham.
  14. Oh damn, I was excited at the opportunity to see Luiz play more matches, then realised he'll be missing from our own pre-season friendlys. ;_; When do they start btw? Need to get Chelsea TV ready
  15. Live in Gloucestershire, drive in as far as I can and then tube it, maybe a 6 hour round trip so only manage to go to ~5 games a season (luckily one of them was the Spurs game at Wembley!) Much like the poster above though, if I can't go to a game, and it isn't on Sky, I'll make sure I watch it on a stream. I think I only missed two matches last season, one of which was a Carling Cup game not shown anywhere, and the other I managed to catch the end of, to see us lose 1-0 to Everton ;_;
  16. Are we talking about the same AVB? He's the only manager I can remember that I just couldn't stand to watch, he mumbled his way through every single interview repeating the exact same thing time and time again. I found him utterly engaging and honestly, I think that was a problem in the dressing room too.
  17. Dortmund have signed him for €17m, seems like quite a bargain imo
  18. Ah, damn I'm tempted! (from the UK) Need to take a look around the house later and find a place for one though, tempted by the office but would mean taking down another Chelsea picture I have there. Could speak with the girlfriend about getting one in her sewing room... we need more Chelsea things about :D Just to confirm, you don't think they'd damage the wall/paint at all if I wanted to move it? Cheers
  19. Agreed, we had Gallas for his best years, then he helped us get Ashley for his best years... as much as he's a c**t, it's hard not to at least be grateful for that
  20. Is there anything not to love about Ivan?

I love both Tempted to get the new away shirt with Drogba on... sounds silly, but... meh
  22. loz, you should've pretended it was Mata/Ramires/Drogba/Lampard... ;p Seriously though, that is incredibly surprising, even with people (such as myself) throwing him the occasional sympathy vote (and genuine vote for games like Villa, QPR where he was immense) I'm amazed he finished top!
  23. Zola is awesome, an absolute gentleman, and was a magician on the pitch, the guy absolutely oozes class, probably my favourite ever Chelsea player. But Drogba, damn. This guy is simply awesome too - I don't think I've ever seen a player like him in combining strength, power, pace and fantastic technical ability... don't forget his work off the pitch too, he's done so much for charity and his home country I think any footballer in history would struggle to compete with the good work he's done. I also spoke with someone who works for Chelsea TV recently and meets the players often, and he said Didier is one of the loveliest players he's ever had the pleasure of meeting. Both legends, can't chose between them!
  24. Not sure if I want a ban, an email address, or both...
