The Portugese FA knew throughout and I think it was going to be leaked anyway. For once I think the club may have thought this through, they announced it when they knew Portugal had qualified so he'd take the brunt of the questions in the press conference before the meaningless game and not before an important knock out game. He's left it open for the move, can't say it's anything ground breaking or surprising especially with such uncertainty remaining around the club at the moment. One of the few players in the squad who'd I'd want the club to pay him what he wants, such a vital player.

There's actually good chunks of that which is accurate but like any Bates rant it also has a lot of hypocrisy intertwined with bitterness.

Toss up between Hiddink and Scolari, either one would be short term but I'm not sure that at a club like ours a longer term option is viable. Certainly a manager at the Euros anyway, I think if any other choices (even ones contracted at other clubs) were up for the job we would have them sealed and appointed now. Personally, my first choice was always Sparky, now he's out of the running a Spalletti and Zola combo would be fantastic, but it's too much of a risk for the board. Has Roman got his badges yet?

Sparky will be approached today apparently along with Ancelotti.....again.

A lot of us also aren't putting 'solid info' and passing things off as fact. There's no pressure to be right and if there is any that's from him putting the information out there in the first place.

I'm sure we'd cope.

Yep, must be an absolute pro at taking a bung or two now. This is the danger, letting this rather below average manager another chance and a chance to rebuild. Just bring in someone who has a few credentials Roman ffs, give them the dosh not someone who is so clearly out of his depth at this level.

What a great agent Ferreira has, he's just signed a new five year contract.

We've missed the chance, he'll be off to Madrid of Barca now I reckon. Paulo is out of contract in the summer so I assume our right backs will be Belletti and Ivanovic.
