My unbiased oppinion on stevens vs lampard debate, last season both were pretty rubish!! but if i had to say one was slightly better than he other than i guess stevens put in a few more better performances than lamps... but do you rekon lamps would swap season, im guessing no but i bet hollywood ball would. Fact is gerrard is the media darling, can do no wrong so he doesnt take any of the flack lamps has to deal with. I honestly believe that gerrard will neve be as good as lamps was two seasons ago, the first season we won the title, not as many goals but his performances where out of this world week in week out. I just dont think gerrard has the tatical awarness for it. Some one comletly neutrale summed it up for me, he hits the ball hard and can run around a hell of a lot!! when the legs go so will he, he's not he kind of player that will be able to slow down and have the same impact!! the traits that ive mentioned make him a great english midfielder but thats whats wrong with the english game. The fact that some one like gerrard is hailed so highly, if he had grown up in brazil he's be cleaning toilets (bit far??) ok he cirtainly wouldnt be playing for brazil, there and nor would lamps for that matter IMO. but he's not the asspitations of every young english kid

Dont rate him as highly as some and cirtenly not at 25 mill but he will be an improovment on there current stricking power which is currently non existent

By the looks of those clips i cant see him being a full back for much longer, looks like a really dynamic and powerfull winger... id be quite excited if we got him for the quoted 3 mill but there has been no firm links at all so unlickely to happen

It cant really be touched, as gem pointed out, based on the season gone drogba is the only one that makes it even worth thinking about... But (also pointed out by gem) just for one moment imagine sheva recaptures the form that made him the most danegrouse stirker in europe.. robben doesnt get injured for a whole season and then add a fully fit joe cole in to the mix... ok we'r still lagging behind them but not by that much... The thing is all that aside i think they key to our season next year will be having Essien in the middle!! not shifting him all over the place... the guy is a monster of a player and if we do go up against barca next season at some point i think it will be him that will be the difference as opposed to all the star attractions on show

Just a bit of useless information... the expression is actually "eat my hatte". And I fail to see how we will be better off this season. I take it therefore I'm in a minority in saying that we don't have enough quality strikers? Drogs Sheva Kalou will do it for us. Sheva, Kalou, SWP, JC and Robben scored less than 10 goals between them last season. How many this season I wonder? Having said that I do expect Kalou to be steadier and Sheva to have adjusted better. At his age next season is Sheva's last big chance I'd suggest. JC may well get a few. Ballack too may be good for a couple more goals this season, but on the other hand Lampard can't be expected to get 15 every season from mid field. Well if a lack of goals is where you our pinpointing things than it has every thing to do with the injurys, robben and cole two of our most creative players injured for most of the season, having our center backs injured forced us to shuffle the midfield and loose essien who was a powerfull driving force... did you actually not notcice that robben and cole missed most of the season, hardly fair to include them in accumaltive goals to back up an argument where lack of goals is your focal point

Im happy with the cappelo, sorry i mean realy title win... iv been a fan of cappelo for as long as iv been watching football and this re-inforces the quality of the man. Fact is if he and rikared had swaped teams at the beggining of the season that barca would have won teh title by some way. player for player there the better outfit.

Have to agree James is a great athlete but im not sure he got such a raw deal, at the end of the day he is prone to huge lapses. At the top level you need to be able to have nothing to do for most of the game and then be world class for a split second, thats why he's a very good keeper for a mid table team. Robo on the other hand i think has what it takes, and two seasons ago was every bit an international keeper but really has been of his game this season and probably cos of the extra couple of stone!

They feed them other young keepers who aren't good enough. Survival of the fittest At Spuds its survival of the fatest judging by Paul Robbo this season! Right brit, you beat me to it This can help to conclusivly settle the debate... i would never expect Juve to win the league in the first or even second season back in the top flight.. although i think if cappelo was still in charge it would be a close run thing.. BUT any manager worth his salt should have Juve right up there and challenging with in 3 seasons... and a tittle in 4 is not out of the question... i personly think the guy will still be building in 4 years (if he's still there) but if he wins the league and pauly confirms there where no bungs than usual ill hold my hands up and say i was wrong about the guy as a manager (in other words not a winner) i dare say his stout army of deffenders will no dowt do the same if as i predict he fails to win the title in his time at Juve

Not such a bad, signing in any way, the guy know's where tho goal is and at the same time comes with no expectation. And personly im on bored with the way we'r going about things at the moment. We need to keep the deffence settled!! and i cant see us brining any one else in that will impoove on it we dont need a RB in my oppinion because Pualo with games with proove to be one of the best right backs around as he did in his first season. so alex on the cheap seemes a good choice, a player that can do a job when called upon. The same goes for the midfiled really, mikel, lamps, essien, maka with diawarra and ballak more than capable of cover. there is not an awfull lot we are going to be able to bring in to improove on that and essien and mikel have me very excited for next season Up frount we have been light this season with sheva not really making a telling contribution, so pizzaro is another option, anothe striker than can come on and add a different dimention but at the moment no one is going to replace the drogs are they so no point in buying some one to do it as much as i would dearly lover tevez. If there is one position im worried about its the wings Cole is a given, you know he will step up but beyond that robben is hit and miss, on form frigtening but with his glass like labal and his when he's not on form we cant rely on him... that said i spend my self thinking that maybe just maybe we'r going to see him step up and deliever what we all know he can because if he does that then ronaldo who IMO... but if not SWP has only looked good coming in center, stangely and kalou, well jurry out on what position he playes in, we are wating for loz to make up his mind about what he isnt first So if we where to through cash at any position it would be on the wings for me..
