I need to see that Zouma goal again in close up and slo mo, but it looks like the corner from Mount hit him on the ear and went in, rather than it being a header of text book technique LOL

Excellent return to the side in his best position. Havertz and Mount have a nice balsnce between them, and with kante sitting deeper, it is all looking rather rosy!

Kante's footballing skill was massively disrespected here, some have confused his form with his actual skill as a footballer. Unfortunately his play style relies on pace so even half a yard off it puts him off, if he played as a holding midfielder right now he would likely win the ball a lot more from not having to track back as much. Hopefully he is dealing with fatigue and not actual decline.
Jorginho was pretty average for Sarri, he played much better for the start of last season then went back to being average again. I remember it was when Kante was injured and it seemed like Lamps had found the holy grail of midfield setups and I actually was thinking Kante coming back might ruin it. Lamps played Kante as soon as he got back, kept changing things up and we never really saw the best of Jorginho again, it was so brief that I can't even remember what he did that impressed me. 
 
 

The thing is Chilwell is going to make mistakes with how much he bombs forward, it's inevitable. But the fact he has made such little mistakes so far is very impressive. Solid defensively and solid going forward, I also like how comfortably he is on the ball, very similar to James in that aspect. 

Scary how much of an upgrade he is over the other two we have there. 

This just reminds me of the Pulisic situation people just couldn't be patient, this guy is absolute class lay off him and give him time.

The difference is Havertz has only been here a couple months, the others have had at least a full season in the prem already and had much more time to settle in

What do you mean you hope he doesn't end up like Ozil? Ozil was a world champion, a winner with Real Madrid and sort of a loser because of Wenger and the Arsenal environment. But Ozill was a spectacular player with great career. The only problem with him was that he was a big time choker, a huge liability in big matches. 
That being said when the players around Kai perform like the way they did the first couple of months you can't expect him to have great time on the pitch. Yet, he is much more active than I expect him to be with Pulisic, Werner, Mount and Ziyech playing like complete garbage. All the players apart from Havertz and to some degree Mount in some matches are terrible at the moment. Pulisic is hiding very well from the ball, Werner can't pass through a parked bicycle with the ball  and the others are not even worth the mention.

Like most other players, people are overrating Kovacic's abilities because he's not playing. Having said that, I don't think he's any worse than Kante or Jorginho. All of them have their limitations.  Maybe we should try a midfield 3, with one of them instructed to stay back and protect the defense.

I really should just move on the fancy stuff - what's on X axis, what's on Y axis, what does it mean, how are the scrubs like Fred, Guendozi and Harry Winks in the top 5 best of this genius statistical masterpiece. Who cares about those things? Who cares about goals and assists? If it looks shiny, its gotta be good. If we can explain it or not, doesnt matter, as long as it looks like its some 9-years old first experience with excel. Damn, I am so behind.

I think his slow career start is aiding him massively now. He's the opposite of an early bloomer who burns our equally early.

His inability to make good assists, to score goals and to attack between the lines is hurting him badly. What's the point of him being the second best dribbler in Chelsea history behind Hazard when the runs always end up with intersection or bad decision. If he is not miles ahead of Kante offensively he will never be first choice because even that nerfed version of N'golo is way way better than Kova defensively.

3 at the back, interesting, I'm surprised Mount isn't playing, this is the one game I definitely would've expected him to play.

They have played one match less and we are up two points so even in the table they are better than us. 

Worst bit with Giroud is that the same happened last season. It took us 6 months to work out that he was the best striker to fit the team style and when we did he turned it all around for us. Pulisic, Ziyech and Havertz working in and around Giroud could be a sight to behold. I'd like to see it soon.
