  1. Unless the FFP becomes much more strict than it currently is, I highly doubt he will make it here. Mainly due to lack of chances. He will most likely be moved on along with others who then go on to become great players and we are back to square one. Also I don't see what he would learn abroad that he couldn't learn at a club in the championship, believe it or not not all the teams in the championship are neanderthals that lump the ball forward at any given opportunity. He knows what type of player he is, anyone who would be interested in loaning him will know what type of player he is, he's not going to turn into Rory Delap just by us loaning him to a championship team.
  2. Modric will do what Sahin and Khedira (to some extent) have failed to do, he'll fill in the box to box role that Khedira currently has expect Modric is much more creative and can obviously keep the ball better high up the pitch. That's something that they have been missing and is something Khedira can't currently do. Khedira is the physical box-to-box player you mention, he's not slow either and having that in the team hasn't really improved them that much so it clearly wasn't the answer.
  3. Why would a player coming from Barca B excite me more than someone coming from Wigan, a team in the EPL? Makes no sense that. It's his ability that's my concern, nothing else. There's no doubt that he will get better eventually and will probably improve from playing with the likes of Hazard, etc but going off what we know now which is his current ability, he simply isn't good enough and is not better than what we have in the likes of Kakuta or KDB. His passing is average, his crossing even worse and he can't finish. Have to ask yourself, if he can't finish and he can't create often is it worth having him? He would be better off at a team like Liverpool, anything more than that level is being rather kind to him. Even the most die hard Wigan fan will have a hard time agreeing with that. Unless your definition of excellent is different to mine. Also he gave some of the big teams a run around, not all. The only Wigan player that was excellent all season was Di Santo. Di Santo seemed to find the net just find, perhaps if Moses wasn't so wasteful he would have got more goals.
  4. I'm not saying I want him to double that, what I'm saying is that he could have if he was clinical enough. Also when I said he could easily have doubled his tally I was exaggerating slightly (Think he would have got around 50 goals if he was more clinical), obviously it's not realistic to expect to score 74 goals. I was using it to emphasis my point. I know strikers miss chances but they weren't all half chances like headers from crosses, they were good chances one on one with the keeper that you would expect to be tucked away. You are greatly discrediting Song here, he was their most creative player last season and was a large contributor to RVP's goals. He very much was Sneijder in that he was the one that made things happen from midfield. I know RVP is their best player? I didn't say otherwise, not sure what he's won has to do with what I said. Again, some of those movements you mention are basic things that all good strikers do. I know he's great off the ball but it's quite easy to distinguish between an RVP movement and a normal striker movement. Lastly, I never said Torres would score all those goals. Why would I say that? Of course he wouldn't but he would have got a similar amount, like I said before, of around 20-30 goals. Despite Arsenal losing their 3 most creative players they still made heaps and heaps of chances (Nothing changed in that regard, it was their defence that was the main cause), only reason you think there's a difference between now and when they had Fabregas & Nasri is because this time RVP was fit through out the whole season. You are disagreeing with things I didn't say. Had I had said the things you think I did then I wouldn't blame you for disagreeing.
  5. You mean the medical staff who pass on their information to the coaches who in turn pass it on to the manager? Those medical staff?
  6. All things considered I'm quite pleased about this if it does happen. I hope it can be done fairly quickly.
  7. Never. Moses is English so he's top priority. Nevermind the fact that's hes average as hell, he can run and push people. Great talent, makes Kakuta look like Titus Bramble. Huge potential. Oh and he's English, did I mention that? Can't wait.
  8. @Davey Baby - Read what you said again and I think I see where the confusion came about. Probably don't care now but oh well; When I say chances created by the team I'm talking about through balls through the defence, crosses, cutbacks (this happened a lot) that you would expect any good striker to get on the end of. This has nothing to do with RVP's movement it's just a basic thing for strikers, yes even Torres. Ergo the chances he converted that were created like that were made by the team. When Song first started doing those lobbed balls RVP didn't catch on, then afterwards he clocked on and scored some great goals that way. To me, that says it's Song's cleverness rather than RVP's movement that created those chances. Really don't want to have to go through the whole video to highlight the goals that came about from box standard movement that any good striker does. And if you had seen the amount of easy chances RVP missed last season that even Torres would have found hard to miss then me saying that any good striker, which I consider Torres to be, would have got a similar amount is not a ridiculous statement at all. Far from it.
  9. You are either greatly underestimating the team or vastly overrating RVP's movement, I can't quite tell. I know how quite a lot of his goals came by, from clever passes from the midfielders like Song. I'm not saying they did all the work for him, it's obviously a two way street but from what you seem to be suggesting you think it was mainly down to RVP which is wasn't.I'm fully aware he also created as well, made his own goals at times and I know all about his movement but I wasn't really talking about that. My main point was if he was as clinical as people say he would quite easily have doubled his goals tally last season but he didn't and he's not. Obviously 37 goals is still damn good so people don't mention it. Not a Torres fan boy at all, it's the OP that mentioned Torres. I didn't say same either because quite a few of the goals he scored were made by himself, I said similar amount of goals which is around 20 - 30 goals. Any good striker would have got that much last season playing for Arsenal just from the chances made the team made alone.
  10. Don't think a few extra £m's makes any difference in this case, he's not that important to the team.
  11. Obviously a quality player but his injury record won't justify the huge transfer fee Arsenal will most likely want. Not to mention that he's actually not that clinical, unbelieveable the amount of chances that was made for him last season. If Torres had that many chances made for him I would fully expect he would have got a similar goal tally to RVP. Edit: I think he may go to Juventus though, they are keen to sign him.
  12. There's no real way to make a club play your player. Like Kakuta for example, Fulham had their own youngsters in Frei and that other swiss midfielder so it meant Kakuta barely got a look in. It's up to the club loaning the player to ensure that the club they are loaning him to is right for him. I honestly can't see him getting games at Wigan. CM isn't a position that Wigan are lacking players in, it's actually an area they are pretty good in (Unless players have left that I don't know about). I wouldn't want Josh to waste precious months on the bench just for the sake of having Moses do the same here. Really wish we would drop our interest in this guy already. Oh and I agree with the guy who said Josh should be sent to a championship team.
  13. They just signed Sigurdsson. That will lessen the burden on Defoe and ease the lose of Adebayor, he can also play striker too so he can play upfront when they want to be more direct and get crosses in. Can't see him failing to be honest.
  14. He's barely good enough for Wolves as it is, nevermind good enough for us. Course he could work hard for the team, etc and do alright but so could our youngsters.Anyway just saw this; Matt Jarvis â€@MrMattJarvis @Dmitry_Shakhov yeah that was me in cobham yesterday! I'm from down there! #backtopreseasontodaythough Panic over.
  15. I hope this is a joke. Jarvis is nowhere near good enough, typical MOTD player. I'm also worried to be honest (if all this is true that is), that and the fact that he won't use our youngsters.
  16. Hope he does well, can see him doing so too as well actually. Regardless of who they appointed Spurs would struggle to get into the Top 4, hope he's not expected to work miracles in just one season. Heard that AVB will be given £70m, plus whatever they get from the sale of Modric. Now I know Spurs are in a good state financially but that's an awful lot of money. With that amount of money he easily attract some class players, starting at Porto no doubt. Moutinho and Pereira come to come to mind.
  17. To be honest I think he did well to even get that much. If he had played in a team like Italy he would quite easily have racked up 6-8 goals. He went through spells of the game where they wouldn't even pass the ball to him or play him in behind (When he did get it it was on the wings), with the amount of talented passers they have they could quite easily have played him in far more often. Fabregas fitted the team better, played in a similar role for Barca as well, was nothing to do with Torres ability. That's just how they play. You could look at it that way but you could also look at it in the sense that when Del Bosque wanted to be slightly more direct and get goals he relied on Torres as opposed to their other strikers like Llorente who had a much better season than Torres. I think Cech was worse actually.
  18. Like I said before, there's no downside to keeping him for another season. Only way he should be moved on is if it aided us in the transfer of someone else like Modric/Jovetic. That would make more sense than selling him for next to nothing.
  19. Hunterlaar. When he did play he was pretty awful.
  20. Should see Gareth Crooks. Coentrao wasn't even that good, was just average. That's normally how he plays expect with less bombing forward. Pereira should be there ahead of him, he's normally prone to defensive errors but he was class in this tournament. Don't think Pique was excellent either, was okay but Ramos did the best bits of defending. Would have Bruno Alves over him myself. Gerrard is only there cause of his assists, he was awful otherwise. Moutinho should be there ahead of him. No strikers really played well in this tournament so I would probably just have Fabregas up front. Maybe Balotelli though. Just saw Ibra on the forwards list, if there's room for him then there's room for Torres.
  21. “Torres told me he saw me and passed the ball because it was me†— Juan Mata on his goal
  22. Rui Patricio Lahm - Pepe - Ramos - Alba Moutinho - Pirlo - Khedira Silva - Balotelli - Iniesta That would be mine from what I can remember at this moment in time. Bit bias towards Patricio but I think he did really well. Torn between Ozil and Khedira, picked Khedira cause he stepped up and performed really well.
  23. Ramos, Alba, Pepe, Bruno Alves, Lahm, Balzaretti. Just a few that come to mind.
  24. I wouldn't be happy, no. Considering the team we now have and could potentially get, that should be the least we expect. Performance wise at least anyway, I don't expect us to win the CL again.
  25. Not surprised with Bonucci's poor performance. Hard to believe he's a defender at times. Really happy for Torres, his assist was the highlight of the match for me.
