Haven't really seen a lot of Wolves but Jarvis always stood out. Isn't he a left-winger and don't we already have a plethora of those?

He's English, 26 years old, made his international debut last year (edit: in a friendly), coming on as a sub with 20 minutes left, since when he hasn't featured.

Strange one, to say the least. I can't see how all these guys fit into our team, and if I were a footballer, I'd want to play football.

Jarvis is a decent player of whom I am a fan, although I don't think he'd be as good a fit in the squad as Moses.

Likewise. Good player, but Moses fits the bill better. He can play as a centre forward & is quicker & stronger. Technically I don't see much between them. Jarvis delivery is prob a bit better.

I just read that when RDM was asked why Jarvis was at the training ground yesterday he answered "no comment".

Maybe there is some truth in this.

Do you guys think he is good enough for Chelsea?

It maybe just be me but it seems like since RDM has been made manager we have stopped looking at Hulk and started looking at Moses and Jarvis. Of course i am only basing this on what the press say and what i hear here and there but it if were true then i might be a little worried about RDM's eye for talent and i prey he doesnt bring down the exremely high level of talent we already have with players who are just not up to standard.

I hope this is a joke. Jarvis is nowhere near good enough, typical MOTD player.

I'm also worried to be honest (if all this is true that is), that and the fact that he won't use our youngsters.

don't agree with the above , think he would be a very good player for us . Can play well in a number of postions from cm to lw to dm . 110%er who always works hard for the team taller Scott Parker in my book and younger to boot . Might not be a first tem regular but would be great to have on the bench and in my view much better than Mireles.

^ Maybe TBB has a point, as Meireles looks like he could be leaving for Napoli.

However, we have De Bruyne, left-winger cum central midfielder, and we don't want to stifle his progression.

Makes you wonder why we buy all these players. Seems like we're hedging our bets rather than backing our judgement and giving the guys we do sign a chance.

If he was a youngster, then maybe. But he's 26 now, he's not got a whole lot of progressing left to do, we have plenty of up and coming young ones who would be better off taking that spot.

Seems an odd one to me, given the choice I would rather have Victor Moses, but you never know, he could turn out to be a bargain squad member.

Jarvis is a good player, great cross on him and would probably love to give those chances to Torres instead of Steven Fletcher.

I'm not a Football Manager fan who completely overlooks the reality of ego/expected playing-time when interested in players, my foster brother always maintained that United did so well because they always had a few John O'Shea's in the club who were just delighted to be there and would put 100% in every game as a result and I think he had a point.

However, De Bruyne is already delighted to be here, can play the same positions, is someone the club has already invested in and has 6 years on Jarvis, so I'm not sure I entirely get it if true..

If we sign him; I'll just remind myself that a few eyebrows were raised when United splashed 20mil on Valencia and get behind him, if we don't, I won't cry myself to sleep.

He was at Cobham?! I didn't know that...

Im actually amazed were the first ones ive seen mentioned to try and sign him as he is someone I hoped we would take a look at and expected quite a few clubs would be interested. Would make a very good replacement for Kalou in my opinion.

He's barely good enough for Wolves as it is, nevermind good enough for us. Course he could work hard for the team, etc and do alright but so could our youngsters.

Anyway just saw this;

Matt Jarvis â€@MrMattJarvis

@Dmitry_Shakhov yeah that was me in cobham yesterday! I'm from down there! #backtopreseasontodaythough

Panic over.

Jarvis seems to be a good player, but is be better than the other ones we're looking at?

Besides, I think I'd rather see us give some youngsters a chance every now and then.

If Jarvis was to play on the left he'd be a bloody sight better than Malouda, and he can also play on the right - and he's English, which may be a factor. I'd far rather we started buying lower profile youngish English talent than spend mega-bucks in transfer fees and wages on a foreigner like Hulk, where there's no guarantee he'll adapt to the EPL at all.

Might say he puts in a mean cross. But with Droggles gone you'd have to wonder whether that would be as useful.

I myself enjoyed this one Star purely for seeing the usual crowd go bonkers at us being linked with a player who doesn't rate at least 80 on FIFA.

Most likely is that RDM is trying to put his stamp on the squad and bring in his own players

If he's cheap, it could be worth a risk. At least he wouldn't be taking up a foreign spot...

He's an old schoolmate of my Daughter. I have posted on other sites so apologies to those who might have read this elsewhere.

He's just bought a house near the Training Ground, near or next-door to Essien so I've been told. Foolham have made a bid, the fee wasn't accepted by Wolves and I'm told he's not keen on that move, the Red Side of Merseyside made a bid, he's a sensible lad and doesn't want to go there, ideally.

He was at the training ground this week, just for a visit of course.

Good squad player, beats his man the one-time and delivers a quality ball, Damien Duff like. Works up and down the line and contributes 5-10 goals a year. Sensible lad, who still sees his old school mates when he can. Wouldn't cost a fortune and would contribute more than the current Malouda. He's English and would count as 'home-grown' I believe. We'd probably have an overall saving on wages if he were brought in on a one-in, one-out basis.
