I doubt we will rest anyone for this match, first match in the group, a must win against the so called weakest team in the group. If we drop points here there will be a riot in the board room. I expect a comfortable 2:0 win, but with how the team is going these days, we can't take anyone for granted

From what i heard, Sheva played a full match against Italy last night and scored a goal, if he is not in the team this weekend, there has to be problem between him and the boss

Signing of Sidwell make no sense at all, apart from we stopped Liverpool or possibly Arsenal snatch him. Even without Sidwell, Diarra would not get much playing time this season, with Essien, Mikel and maka still ahead of him. I wouldn't mind if he went back to France or one of the mid table club, but Arsenal? WTF! I think Arsenal will sell Flamini or Gilberto and make a profit out it, with Diarra move up to the bench. Well done to Jose and Kenyon, for allowing Ar$e making a few Million pounds and possibly snatch a great player

If he was fit, he would do great things for the club, but when will he be fit? IMO if we keep him, he will play 15 league games this season, then walk out in the next window for half of the transfer fee. As long as we get Alves, we have his positon covered and we can save the medical bill to buy a new team bus.

If that mistake was made against Chelsea, he would have got a pay rise and full backing from his superior.

Pizarro has the runs on the board at this stage, so he should be picked first. However comes to the Champion league matches, Sheva should and most likely will be picked ahead of Pizaro, his record and experience is way too precious to be ignored.

I been playing it for a week now, overall it's a lot better than 2005 (even without patching). AI opponent is a lot smarter, transfer market is more active, match play looks a lot more realstic. On the downside( to me), some of the physical attributes (e.g. strength, jumping) aren't reflected in match play, same can be said about mental attributes (positioning, flair), no option to play striker behind ( the AM stays way too far behing the striker) individual instruction has not improved since 2005. I would like to see options such as target man playing a central role in the box, wingers have the options to cut inside or stay by the sideline. Overall, it's a good game, I enjoyed it.

Maybe its time someone have a look at what the lads are doing in training.. I lost count of how many times in the last 2 seasons we lost players during training. Injury in match play is unfotunate and part of the game, but losing players in regular and preseason training on such scale is just awful.. I dont think Jose can expect sympathy from anyone on the current injury crisis, everyone finished their holiday in one piece, came to preseason training, in about 3 weeks time half of the team are bugged.. Are they rugby tackling each other in training every day?

With the money they have, they are going to sign a big name striker anyway.. I would be more worried if they had Etto or Adriano.. Pressure will be on Raffa, drop out of the title race by March will be unacceptable .

Thats the big purchase Raffa been craving for, guess he wont have any excuses if the pool cant hack the league title next season.

IMO apart from the necessary signing, we need to be more flexible in terms of formaiton and personnel, especially against mid table teams and below. Lets face it, most teams these days are happy to grind out a goal less draw with us, therefore instead of playing 433 or 442 diamond we could play a standard english type of 442. The legs of Essien cover 2 player's work load, therefore there is no reason why we can't play 2 strikers, 2 wingers, Lampard as an attacking midfielder and Essien cover the back 4. If we were playing Man U or Arsenal, show them a little respect and revert to a 433, but NOT against a Wigan, Newcastle or Villa etc..

I have a feeling this is only the start of the MANC huge spending spree over the summer, now they have a long term back up for Giggs and Scholes. Lets see what we can come up with, we dont need another athelte who can play rugby, but a creative dribbler who can carve up mid to lower table team in the league..

Arent JT and Lampard in camp with Team England right now? Therefore even if they want sign it right now, they arent able to do it. Special notes to Ferreria, everyone talked about him as the weak link and how Ronaldo will carve him up.. We seen none of that, Ronaldo switched side and Giggs had a go at him, still no success.. he was bumped off by Rooney a few times, otherwise he was spot on, even had a few good runs forward... He stopped the so called the best player in the biggest game of the year, why not give him a few more games next season

1. That Pr** Hunt kicked Cech out for half a season 2. We only have 2 class Centreback from day 1, part of our own fault 3. We still dont have the cutting edge to kill teams off, enough said about Scheva, Drogba had a great season but Kalou is not the natural goal scorer( at least not yet) 4. Man U had a very good reason, they were out there to win games from game 1 and with a little bit of luck they did.. The disappointment of this season will do us heaps of good in future, providing Jose and most of the players will stay, we will be back stronger and hungrier next season..

I'm more concerned about how we will approach the game for the remainder of the season and the next, rather than who's coming.. Based on what we have seen recently, we could have Kaka pump the long ball down to Villa's neck next season..

Its a pain for me to say it, but we deserve what we got tonight.. We went out there to play a goalless draw, after conceding one we were playing for the extra time.. It's only when Robben was on with about 20 minutes to go in extra time there were sings of improvement ( for a few minutes), then we were playing for the penalty. We played 45 minutes of long ball and it achieved nothing, so we played another 45 minjutes of long ball, plus another 30 minutes of long balls, talk about being persistent In a way this week's pain will do us good in the future( assume Jose will stay on), he will have to come up with something new in terms of tactics and personels next season.. Overall it was a dismal night, losing on penalty didnt reflect how poor we were ..

Zenden was ordinary however even he got past Ferriera a few times and put in a number of crosses unchallenged, made me think had Risse been playing at a left winger, we could have been is deep s**. I do belive either Diarra or Essien will play in the return leg, fortunately there was no damage done last night..

Eidur loves Chelsea too much to do that, in addtion he has nothing to gain if he goes to Man U - already has 2 titles with us.

Disappointed, but why the heck would I shout on Liverpool to win a match.. All we can do is to win every match remain and pray Man U have a disaster.. Whether is pure luck or else, you got hand it to the red nose, they did steal a number of matches out of no where
