Me too. I thought he was going to have one of those nights where he's more concerned with rolling around on the grass but he pulled his finger out and lead the line well and was integral to our turning the game around. Lampard did well with his two goals but his overall game was well below par.

First half - no one, piss poor to a man.

Second half - Didier, played like a titan second half, and along with Frank was the main reason we are through.

everyone bar cech raised their game second half

I gave mine to Lampard. He scored some very important goals today.

Drogba was brilliant though so my vote could have gone to him too.

I went for the Drogs. He was immense in the second half.

Drogba. I thought he was the only player who showed up for the first half.

Went for Frankie Lampard 'cause he was awesome today. Drogba deserves credit for another awesome performance. And so does Essien purely for that header. ;)

A toss up between Lampard and Drogs for me. Cech is a pale shadow of the keeper he was a few years ago.

Drogba for me...Lampard came very close and I have to mention Alex for that free kick....mate did he hit it?

Drogba for his 2nd half performance. Anelka would be the choice in the first half only cos he was on the pitch the least amount of time

By the way, I've been amusing myself with the match thread on a liverpool forum - they hate Drogba in their guts! In their very DNA, I tell you.

All I know is if you had to make a decision on who is the best centre-forward in the world, based on the two legs of this CL quarter-final, it clearly isn't Fernando Torres.

I find it ironic how some said at the end of the last champions league final, that Drogba was not fit to wear a Chelsea shirt again!

Still don't like his attitude..still wish we could find someone to properly replace him..still don't know of any such player if Drogba is really up for it.

Its part of the package really. Drogba's attitude is really on/off. Gets sent off in the final, dives all over the pitch tonight...BUT when its all said and done, on the pitch he's pretty much irreplacable (when he wants to be.)

Drogba for me. Not matter what some fans may think, he DOES seem to turn it on against Liverscum and for that, I'm grateful.

Thought Ballack put in a few telling passes. Just wish he could do it more often.
