From the BBC:

Unhappy Deco wants Inter switch

Midfielder Deco has admitted he is unhappy at Chelsea and wants to be reunited with his former Porto manager Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.

He arrived for £8m from Barcelona last summer but fell out of favour after boss Phil Scolari left and was replaced by temporary coach Guus Hiddink.

"I want to feel happy and this is not the case at Chelsea," he said.

"I would like to return to work with Mourinho, he is synonymous with success and I would be very happy."

And Deco is eager to put his experience at Chelsea behind him before the Carlo Ancelotti era gets under way.

"I have a contract with Chelsea, but I know there are offers from other clubs," he said.

"I want to find a club where I can again take joy from playing. I did not like the experience at Chelsea.

"Mourinho is a great coach, maybe the best of my career.

"I know the clubs have spoken. I just have to have respect that and wait."

Is there anyone here who doesn't want Deco out?

I would have liked to have seen him given a chance. On his day he's a prolific playmaker - Portsmouth showed us what he could do, but since he started getting injured and lost form, I'm not even sure he wants to play for Chelsea and in the Premier League any more.

Let him go to Inter and get good again...

Bye bye hasbeen, while you've got room in the cab take Hilarious, Ferreira and Kalou with you.

Glad to see the back of Deco but I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as the other 3.

Nor would I. After all Ferreira was a key player in our back to back winning side including being part of a record breaking defence. Hilario was a third choice keeper who, through hideous bad luck for the club, was thrust into the first team and was perfectly competent (as much as you can expect from a third choice keeper) and Kalou, though not the standard of player we are after, has actually played a lot, scored a reasonable number of goals and been a reasonable sub.

So why is it that you would place those three below Deco?

Pity old regular poster Jack isn't here to revel in this. First Veron, then Sheva, now Deco. Didn't call much wrong with those three did he?

To be fair, I think many of us did or could have called those three.

Veron after his fairlure at Man Utd was always a gamble. And both Sheva and Deco were two players heading towards the end of their careers who knew they would pick up sh*t loads of cash each week no matter how they performed.

PLEASE let the club have finally learnt their lesson on signing over the hill players who have NO hunger.

I wouldn't want to slag Deco off as I doubt he came here wanting to struggle and he did show early promise..most fans thought he was the dogs after the first game and injuries have played a part.

He needs more time on the ball than the Prem allows and has never been fit enough or to be fair looked interested enough to try to deal with it.

I would defend Ferreira Kalou and Hilario though as all have done their best in a blue shirt (ok never seen Hilario in a Blue shirt)

Ferrreira could still have a massive roll to play here if Ancelotti decides he likes his RBs to defend.

Hilario has been as good a third choice keeper as I have ever seen and Kalou although not fulfilling his early promise has scored some important goals for us and given us something different in more games than he gets credit for.

Sorry that Deco didn't show what he is certainly capable of but as with Sheva maybe he came to England too late in his career..thats not really his fault.

 Great post Chipps, totally agree!

I was just watching Deco the other day on Chelsea TV and thinking what could have been if he kept that form up! I don't think he has lost that form, I just think it went with Scolari!

Well yes and no. My only problem with Jack was the hostility he showed towards Deco, writing him off before he'd ever played a single game for the club. Put it another way, Veron didn't fit in well at Old Trafford but could have done so at the Bridge, Sheva was past his best, but with luck and a ddifferent formation perhaps, could possibly have been a little more successful, and Deco similarly past his best, plagued by injuries, with a need to adapt to a different culture and style of football, was unlikely to set the world alight. But neither was it beyond the realms of possibilities that Deco would turn out to be the bargain of the season.

I also remember the way he (Jack) threw his toys out of the pram over the not too hostile opposition to his point of view - in fact the hostility was all from him, if I remember rightly. Of course it's ok to have your doubts, but when a player signs for the club, at least give him a chance to prove himself.

Having said all that, Deco wants to leave, his attitude was never that good, and I can't see any way back for him at the Bridge, so it's time to move on.

If he wants a lift to the airport i will take him and i wont even ask for petrol money!!! We should never have signed him in the first place. Hopefully Chelsea wont make the same mistake this summer.
