Do you like Daniel Craig as Bond? I think he is cool enough. I am hyped about Spectre as well. Should be a blast.

Lol you couldn't sound more American if you tried, Robdog! But yes, I'm a big Daniel Craig fan. He reminds me of Dalton, cold and efficient, and one of my favourite Bonds. More akin to the literary Bond too, who was plagued by many demons as a result of his work, abusing alcohol to cope with it all.

If we are going back to a little classic style (which I really hope we do), hopefully Craig lightens up just a smidgen, has a few funny one liners and is just a little more like Mr Connery.

My understanding is that John Logan's script for Spectre was seen as too sombre after the initial drafts, so they got veteran Bond scribes Purvis and Wade to make it lighter and add more jokes and one liners. Fingers crossed!

Has anybody seen Nightcrawler? I'm thinking of seeing it tomorrow, after hearing rave reviews about it.

Yes, I thought I posted it on here a couple of pages back. It's very good,

The Aston Martin DB5 turning up in Skyfall had be grinning like an idiot, one of the best Bond films IMO and certainly the best for a long time.

Connery is still Bond for me but I really enjoyed Skyfall so I am excited for the new one especially as Waltz is in it.

Here is Bond's new Aston Martin

From the Aston Martin website. Only ten DB10 are being made so get you orders in quick. Goodness knows how much they will cost. The Aston Martin DB5 which was used in Goldfinger was auctioned a couple of years ago and was sold for £2.5 million. Surprised, thought it would go for more.

4 December 2014, Gaydon: Aston Martin together with EON Productions, the producers of the James Bond film franchise, unveiled Bond’s stunning new car, the Aston Martin DB10, on the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios.

The luxury British sports car brand is delighted to confirm that James Bond will once again drive an Aston Martin in Spectre. On this occasion, it will be a model developed specifically for the film and built in-house by the brand’s design and engineering teams.

Led by Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, the design team worked closely with the film’s director, Sam Mendes, to create the ultimate car for the world’s most famous spy.

Celebrating the great British brand’s half century with Bond, which started with the iconic DB5, the DB10 gives a glimpse to the future design direction for the next generation of Aston Martins.

Dr Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said: “In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond.

“To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin.

“I’m incredibly proud of everyone in the team at Gaydon who have brought this special project from concept to reality.”

Production will be strictly limited to 10 of the bespoke sports cars, developed and built by the designers, engineers and highly skilled craftspeople at Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters.

Spectre is due for general release on 6 November 2015.

I liked Lazenby in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' - an unjustly mocked film imo. Goldfinger and Live and Let Die are hard to top. The end sequence of Live and Let Die (the Voodoo Doctor on the train) is amazing, as is Jane Seymour in that film. She and the Russian agent (Daniella Bianchi?) in From Russia with Love are my favourite Bond girls.

Best scene in a Bond film? Skyfall where Bond steps from the crane arm into the wrecked carriage end and adjusts his suit with a quick movement of the neck.

Totally agree. OHMSS is in my top 5 Bond films, it's a cracker.

The only problem was Lazenby in my eyes though- he just wasn't very good at acting. But he did have a great physical presence and was extremely convincing in the fight scenes- a great physical Bond. And he delivers one of my favourite one-liners: henchman falls into a snow machine, blood flies everywhere- "He had lots of guts!"

^ What's your top five please Blueblur?

Mine's:

Goldfinger;

Live and Let Die;

From Russia with Love;

On Her Majesty's Secret Service;

Skyfall;

I liked Dalton as Bond but he was in the series at a time when it seemed to lose its way. He had a great presence but the films were a bit weak at that time. I agree re. Lazenby's acting. Brosnan had a great presence also but, for me, the films were not as strong as they might have been. It was that time (Brosnan's) when other action films were matching Bond for action and exotic locales. Craig and, with the last and next film, Mendes, have saved the series imo.

Top 5:

The Spy Who Loved Me

The Living Daylights

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

You Only Live Twice

Skyfall

That's not in order of best to worst by the way, there are far too many elements at work in all the films for me to be able to say what Bond film I like best out of those five. From Russia with Love, Casino Royale and Live and Let Die just miss out on my list! It's so damn difficult to choose 5 favourites out of 23!

I agree with you about Brozza; he was a good Bond but his films were average really- like you said, his films were being outdone by others at the time. Craig's introduction and the re-boot did indeed save the series!

I actually wrote an exhaustive review of sorts of all the Bond films for the 50th Anniversary. All my opinions of all the films are there :)

Cheers Blueblur. I'll read that review - the link's appreciated.

Might take you several years! It's more of a summary of the best and worst bits of each film. But thanks anyway!

TBH I liked all of the Bonds stuff. Read a couple of Fleming's Books growing up. On the Topic of the Girls, From Pussy Galore to Jinx, I love them all. Shaken not stirred my friends, but my drink is Gin & Tonic. I know it should be Vodka Tonic.

I've just seen The Hobbit.  Two and a half hours of which two hours are a constant battle we've all seen umpteen times before.

Yeah but I am sure you saw some good shots of Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly). I would love her Elven hands help heal my wounds.

Thought the first Hobbit was bad until I saw the second!  I will definitely not be seeing the next one.

And I am working my way through the boxed set of Bond.  Have got to The Spy Who Loved Me which I really liked but am uncomfortable with Roger Moore's  callousness - when he put the out of order sign (or whatever it was) on the guy who had been killed just seemed yuck to me.

Love love the Daniel Craig ones especially Skyfall - when the Aston Martin was revealed the whole cinema just purred!!  Brilliant film.  Can't wait for the next!

But that's what Bond is all about BQ! I don't know if you've read the books? It's only then you realise the films tone him down; he's a dreadful person really. His misogyny is uncomfortable to read.

I remember when I saw Skyfall in IMAX, when they revealed the Aston Martin, the whole audience gasped and a few people even started clapping! A great moment in a brilliant Bond film. I'm looking really forward to Spectre, they're filming in Morocco, London, Rome, Mexico and Austria. Yes, Bond is going back to the snow!

I know, I know.  But Roger Moore seems to be worse than the others and the Spy Who Loved Me especially so.  I haven't read the books and don't think I want to now!

On a side note my son when he was about 9 was reading an abridged version of one of the Bond books and took it into school to read.  After school he told me that he'd had to read a section outloud to the Teachers' Assistant and said it was a bit embarrassing as it had the "c" word in it.  Shocked, I stopped dead, until he carried on and I realised he meant "crap"!

Saw fury last night.....good copy as well (thanks north Korea)....not bad film 7.5/10

I do wonder why there is`nt any british 2nd WW war films being made...maybe not glamorous enough.

Finally got round to watching the documentary 'Searching for Sugarman'

Deserves all the accolades it received.

It's a good one, although I thought it was slightly "dishonest" that they never mention Sixto Rodriguez's moderate success in Australia in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I know it made for a more dramatic story to say that he'd been out of the music business all those years, but he did have big enough success to tour Australia and even record a live album. I know they chose to focus on his legacy in South Africa, and it's totally logical, but would it have ruined (or even tainted) the movie if they had mentioned the success in Australia? And I must say I was surprised to come across this television documentary ("Dead Men Don't Tour") about Sixto Rodriguez that was released more than a decade before "Searching for Sugarman". They even use material from "Dead Men Don't Tour" in "Searching for Sugarman". That's not so unusual in documentaries and one example which pops into my mind is the footage of Sex Pistols' last tour in USA which was originally shot for Lech Kowalski's "D.O.A.", but most people have seen the footage in Julian Temple's "Filth and the Fury". That kind of thing happens a lot when it comes to real life events that only person managed to record, but it's interesting that he had to wait until "Searching for Sugarman" was released until he got the recognition and success on a worldwide scale. It is a really well made movie (in my opinion it's much better than "Dead Men Don't Tour") and the music is great, so it's not a huge surprise, though.

Lucy - 8/10 - Pretty good.

Horrible Bosses - 7/10 - Was alright for one of these modern day comedy films

Predestination - 8/10 - Just the sort of film I like

Nightcrawler, one creepy bloke played brilliantly by Jake Gyllenhaal. Nicely paced story, very watchable 8/10

Yes, Nightcrawler was bloody fantastic! Gyllenhaal is a terrific actor.

Have you seen Donnie Darko? One of my favourite films, possibly my favourite.
