February 16, 201016 yr I love the Beatles version, but if you want to hear another version then here is Fiona Apple... who I've always found to be strangely attractive! That is a really nice version actually, shall be added to my Spotify soon! Also, I saw this in moi's Valentine thread, and I quite recently stumbled upon a cover of it by Fightstar, and I think it's quite a decent version:
March 2, 201016 yr Author IRM by Charlotte Gainsbourg. I adored 5:55 but am not too sure about this one yet. I'll give it a little more time however, because I've got a feeling it'll be a grower. She & Him - Volume 1 She being the gorgeous Zooey Deschanel, him folk singer M. Ward. It's something of a '60s throwback but none the worse for that. I really do like this album.. While I'm on the subject of actresses turned singers, Julie Delpy, who is surely one of the most beautiful women in the world, released a wonderfully sexy, sultry CD a few years back. This is a very, very nice album, give it a listen if you get the chance.
March 10, 201016 yr Just spent the afternoon converting cassettes to iTunes again - never ending job! Great listening to some of the old albums though... The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out (live) (1970) Albert King - Albert (1976) Joan Armatrading - The Very Best Of Joan Armatrading Film soundtrack of Easy Rider (Byrds, Steppenwolf, Hendrix, Electric Prunes, etc...) (1969) Film soundtrack of Zabriskie Point (Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, Kaleidoscope, etc...) (1970)
March 10, 201016 yr Just spent the afternoon converting cassettes to iTunes again - never ending job! Great listening to some of the old albums though... How do you do that? Or am I being thick? Do you just mean you buy from iTunes the tracks you have on cassette?
March 11, 201016 yr How do you do that? Or am I being thick? Do you just mean you buy from iTunes the tracks you have on cassette? I copy the cassettes (and vinyl) to my PC via Nero software, then edit the albums and copy them to a re-recordable CD (I use the same one for every album, the CD never gets played). I then copy the albums from the CD to iTunes. It can take a while, but it sounds more complicated than it is. If you ever want to give it a try, let me know, I'll do my best to help. All totally legal - at least I should bleedin' hope it is. They're my cassettes & vinyl, and my iTunes, so nothing dodgy taking place, honest officer!

March 11, 201016 yr Why do you copy the files to a CD? Couldn't you just import the files to iTunes? As far as I can tell, once I've done editing the albums Nero then asks for a destination for them to be burnt to, and CD is one of only two options - the other I can't remember now. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, and advice would be much appreciated.
March 11, 201016 yr I am working at home today on a report and decided a productive use of time was to spend the first 30 minutes building an 1980s Spotify play list to entertain me throughout the day. Had to do it quite quickly so stuck to fairly mainstream stuff. (tried to avoid having too many tracks by the same artist) Anyway this is what I am listening to now http://open.spotify.com/user/loz1905/playl...U0T9BSPylmXi2yb
March 11, 201016 yr I've been watching playlists of Videos on here.. http://www.muzu.tv Better quality than Youtube if you find anything you want to watch and its easy to make a playlist and just leave it running.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, and advice would be much appreciated. Oh, ok. I haven't used NERO for this type of thing and actually it's been years since I last used NERO at all, so I was just wondering if there was a reason for this extra step and apparently there is. I think Roxio's software allows you to save the files on your hard drive. I haven't used the "Easy LP to MP3" software, but Toast is a really great software that I've used at work. Their products cost a bit, but they are good.
March 11, 201016 yr Did a few more today... The Who - My Generation (1965) Simon & Garfunkel - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme (1966) Thin Lizzy - Chinatown (1980) Kirsty MacColl - Electric Landlady (1991) Little Walter - The Little Walter Collection + Various - Champagne Country (Willie Nelson, George Jones, Kris Kristofferson, etc...)
March 11, 201016 yr got the new Gorillaz album (good old damon, a true blue) and its bloody brilliant.
March 11, 201016 yr got the new Gorillaz album (good old damon, a true blue) and its bloody brilliant. Agreed .... excellent
March 15, 201016 yr As if I didn't hate Fightstar enough already... they then go and butcher a wonderful song. I think Charlie Simpson should be given 50 lashes for referring to Don McLean as "a guy" as well. He's a legend, nothing less. The day Fightstar write something that can even come close to being worthy of being in the same sentence as Till Tomorrow or Empty Chairs, I'll eat my hat.
March 15, 201016 yr Spotify play list to entertain me throughout the day.http://open.spotify.com/user/loz1905/playl...U0T9BSPylmXi2yb A 2.8 hour play list - either you have a good job or a good union Goto the search box in Spotify enter year:1980 and then shuffle http://www.spotify.com/uk/blog/archives/20...rching-spotify/ http://www.spotify.com/uk/blog/archives/20...h-label-search/
