Oasis won the Brit award for What's the Story Morning Glory, who would you have selected.

Stones Roses by the Stone Roses for me

Does it have to be a British album or can I pick any album that's been released during the last 30 years?

Not necessarily for this thread, although I think they may have been the criterea for the award.

As you all know, it is my considered view that there has been NO excellent music in the last 30 years, but, my gut reaction to the question put was either Lovesexy or Sign O The Times by Prince, or Silver Side Up by Nickelback

Nothing rivals the Very Best of Middle Of The Road though

Can't believe that Oasis got voted best album of last 30 years!!!

Here's a few that were better, in my humble opinion: -

Dexy's Midnight Runners - Searching For The Young Soul Rebels (1980)

AC/DC - Back In Black (1980)

Motorhead - Ace Of Spades (1980)

Stiff Little Fingers - Nobody's Heroes (1980)

Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden (1980)

The Human League - Dare! (1981)

AC/DC - For Those About To Rock (1981)

Kevin Rowland & Dexy's Midnight Runners - Too-Rye-Ay (1982)

Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast (1982)

Dire Straits - Love Over Gold (1982)

Pink Floyd - The Final Cut (1983)

UB40 - Labour Of Love (1983)

Robert Plant - The Principle Of Moments (1983)

Def Leppard - Pyromania (1983)

David Bowie - Let's Dance (1983)

The Smiths - The Smiths (1984)

The Smiths - Meat Is Murder (1984)

David Gilmour - About Face (1984)

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms (1984)

Roger Waters - The Pros And Cons Of Hitch-Hiking (1984)

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead (1986)

Roger Waters - Radio KAOS (1987)

Morrissey - Viva Hate (1988)

Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues (1990)

Roger Waters - Amused To Death (1992)

Gary Moore - After Hours (1992)

Paul Rodgers - Muddy Waters Blues (1993)

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell (1994)

Gary Moore - Blues For Greeny (1995)

Pink Floyd - p-u-l-s-e (1995)

KT Tunstall - Eye To The Telescope (2004)

The Kaiser Chiefs - Employment (2005)

It's British albums only right, if it's a Brit award?

Either way the list is an m.o.r joke. Morning glory isnt even Oasis' best album. That accolade goes to the debut , which to be fair is brilliant. At least Oasis did win I mean at least they have a bit of an edge or attitude. I'm just surprised it wasn't Phil Collins.

No Smiths? Roses? New Order? Wheres Violator? Leftism? Hell, I'd even have 'Rio' in there above that lot.

London Calling misses out by a matter of days by my reckoning...

Best album of the last 30 years, in my eyes would probably be In Absentia by Porcupine Tree

Best album ever recorded: Fire & Water by Free always has been always will be

Would Fleetwood Mac count? They're not entirely English, or British even, but Mick Fleetwood is, which could get them to count?

If they count, Tango In The Night... if they don't. Massive Attack - Mezzanine.
