went for alex as he was superb today, and he really should be first choice alongside JT. but i though ivan played well, nico had a good game other than his finishing and it was mikels best game for a long time.

You're right, loz, Alex and Ivanovic were immense, Alex shone through though, nothing got past him at all. What a performance.

i thought anelka was also excellent and would have been my man of the match if he'd scored. but he didn't so my vote goes to alex.

Went for Alex. Mopped up everything at the back. Definatley merits keeping his place ahead of Ricky.

I've gone for Alex too, superb defensive performance.

Voted Alex as he was immense! Mikel had a good game too, breaking play up and his distribution wasn't bad, he even managed to cut down on the needless-free-kicks-conceded count too.

A nod too to Ivan who turned in another one of his usual excellent displays.

Glad you mentioned Paulo, his delivery is usually superb and thought today he was solid enough.

Cant disagree with anybody , Alex was a ROCK .

Carlo would be foolish to drop Alex from now on, he was easily the best player on the pitch imo, and deserves to start every game.

Yeah I know that..what I should have said was "as long as some of us have been saying" as I know we are not the only ones who thought Paulo got a bit of a raw deal.

I voted for Alex as he was very good today, especially when dealing with the attacking threat of Stoke.

I think Alex has a had a couple dodgy games (can't remember exactly which ones so I could be talking nonsense) this year that have hurt Carlo's opinion of him. This was the Alex today that we so most of last season when he was consistently great. I still remember how when we got beaten badly at Anfield last season Alex was about the only one who looked like he cared. This was that same defender. Great stuff.

Went for JT as that was the performance I was looking for from him and he gave it.

The whole tema played a great game and I think we can really move on from here.
