Two blokes not to be overlooked

Featured Replies

Carlo Ancelotte and Ray Wilkins. The masterminds behind this title success.

All the 7-0 thrashings, all the extremely close 1-0's. These blokes were the brains behind it all.

And to think people wanted Carlo out midway through the season.

Carlo and Ray - THANK YOU!!!!

FVCK YES!!!! ::clap2:: ::clap2:: ::clap2::

Carlo! Butch! Thank you fellas!

Fantastically well done by both, the mark of a champion team is the way they bounce back from any setback and they helped us get back in after defeats...

Thanks also to Big Sam, for if it was not for his Blackburn side drawing with ManU a few weeks ago, we would not have been in this position. I still hate Paul Scholes for scoring that late late goal against Citeh, and I still hate Bellamy, SWP and Steve Ireland for playing so casually in that last minute so as to practically give that game to ManU, but I can now officially get over it.

I've warmed to Carlo more tha Jose (shoot me if you want...because I'd die happy)....

I have respect for the managerial skills of the man, don't get me wrong, but I just feel that the quiet business like attitude of Carlo is more likeable than Jose's arrogance. That's who he is, and he is charasmatic...but I personally appreciate the different approach of Carlo.

And what's more...he's brought beautiful, AND sucessful football to the Bridge....he's helped establish Chelsea as the best club in England...because we can play football (like Arsenal is praised about), and we can grind out victory (which is synonomous with United).

He's been great for the club, and I eagerly await what's to come in the future. And Wilkins is a perfect right-hand-man.

I have not been the most complimentary about Carlo at key stages in the season so I guess this is where I eat a huge slice of humble pie!!

Tastes pretty good.

Wash it down with some of that Champagne mate..everyone had their fears..did that film turn up?

One thing you have to love about Carlo is he does absolutely nothing to draw any attention to himself. He doesn't want to be the story or the center of attention. He is just calm and level headed all of the time. And with the circus that can surround this team at times, he is the ideal personality to lead them.

looking around i found this quote from a liverpool fan:

Thats the way to win a title playing great football

Well done Chelsea

Just shows how important it is to have a great manager

nice to see fans of other teams giving credit where credit is due. and also Ray Wilkins. i've seen some horrendous abuse thrown at him by Chelsea fans who simply don't know better. sure Ancellotti is a great manager, and winning the league in his first season is a fantastic achievement, but he hasn't done it unassisted. you only have to watch the way the pair of them confer on the bench to know how important is Ray Wikin's contribution.

I have criticised Carlo at times this year (but was never one of the people suggesting he should go) but big congratulations go to Carlo. I think he will learn from his mistakes this year. It was his first year in English football and im sure we are going to be even better next year as well.

Carlo and Ray deserve a huge amount of praise for the work they've done. In all - all - of our top 4 games in the league this season we've looked sharp and tactically well prepared. We've played some of the best football the PL has seen, scored more than any other team in the history of the PL, conceded less than the rest except for United and have been the best home side of the league.

All of that takes some doing.

They both have a lot to learn and a lot to improve on, but the beginning is as good as they come.

Right up until Carlo was announced I was thinking how much I didn't want him as manager, yet from the moment he officially came to Stamford Bridge, I've had nothing but good feelings about where he would take us. Let's hope this is one of many!

Forgot to mention - save me a piece of that pie, because I doubted the man before he even came on the job. He's done exceptionally well all things considered and here's me hoping he will become our most successful manager soon.

Won the league in his first season in a foreign country, 6-0 against the Big Four, highest scoring top division team for decades, and all that despite making no major signings and inheriting an aging squad. And he could yet lead us to our greatest season ever. Not just impressive but, dare I say it, special!

Full credit to Carlo and Ray.
