Also What Does Being a Chelsea Fan Mean To You?

You can only taste how sweet success is, if you've experienced years of dining on sh*t!

Best Moment - winning the double in spectacular style

Worst Moment - Terry missing that penalty. 2 days of silence, not a word spoken. Proper grief.

Funniest Moment - actually in the bar and not in the stadium! During last season when we beat utd on their own patch. 15 Chelsea fans Vs 50 (easily) Utd fans. Outsung all day long! Completely sauced and I really felt we were gonna do it.

Best Manager - Jose Ancellotti

Worst Manager - Big Fool Scolari

Favourite Player - Zola and Lampard

Least Favourite Player - (currently??) mm Mikel... Ex player: Gallas (c**t)

Best Chant/Song - ten men went to moe

Also What Does Being a Chelsea Fan Mean To You?

A lifestyle, difficult at times, always out numbered, never outgunned! Wouldn't have it any other way. They make have emotional rollercoasters

Edited by Zola

Best Moment - qualifying for the champions league the year before Roman took over on the final day of the season!

Worst Moment - obviously terry slipping on that penalty. i prefer not to talk about it

Funniest Moment - there are lots but one that comes right off the top of my head was Kalou's first goal against Stoke I believe, where Drogba couldn't be assed to take two steps back and trap the ball with this chest, instead he scorpion traps it and i was like...really drogba...wtf...and then he puts in this phenomenal cross for kalou to head in

Best Manager - jose mourinho naturally, though if carlo keeps winning us trophies that might just change!

Worst Manager - scolari...no reasoning necessary

Favourite Player - just look at my username!

Least Favourite Player - there are too many...i was going to say rooney because he's really good and plays on man u but the way the barca players acted during this whole fabregas ordeal, i'd have to say every player on barcelona pretty much, though the fabregas thing isn't the only reason. it's also a team full of diving pricks. if we're talking about chelsea, i don't hate anyone who dons the blue jersey, but if we're talking about players who are lazy or don't seem to care or just perform poorly, i'd say last season it would be deco, but now that he's gone...mikel maybe? for an outfield player anyway. if we're including goalkeepers, then definitely a tie between hilario and turnbull

Best Chant/Song - blue is the color!

Also What Does Being a Chelsea Fan Mean To You? - it gives me the license to be really obnoxious and trash talk fans of our rivals. in all seriousness though, i'd stick with the team through thick and thin and I think most Chelsea fans would agree. most of us are real die hards

Best Moment - Winning the FA Cup at Old Trafford against Leeds, never felt elation like it before or since

Worst Moment - Dave Sexton selling Peter Osgood and Alan Hudson, set the club back about 20 years

Funniest Moment - David Webb (central defender) playing the whole game in goal at home to Ipswich in 1971. At the start of the game he got on his knees and prayed in front of the Shed. During the game, every time he touched the ball he got a standing ovation, even for a pass back, and he waved to the Shed as if to say 'no problem'. He went on to keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory - legend!!!

Best Manager - Tommy Docherty, no question

Worst Manager - Dave Sexton, Danny Blanchflower and Geoff Hurst. The fact I didn't mention Ian Porterfield at all just goes to show what a bunch of utter w*nkers those managers were

Favourite Player - Peter Osgood, how could it be anyone else?

Least Favourite Player - Deco, the stunted mono-eyebrowed cheating little sh*t, he's the only Chelsea player I've hated in about 45 years of supporting the Blues

Best Chant/Song - Knees Up Mother Brown, always sung as soon as we scored a goal, cue complete mayhem on the terraces - brilliant memories!

What is the story behind David Webb having to play keeper? Didn't we have a backup keeper or two on the squad?

Best Moment: Winning promotion back into the top flight in 1988/89

Worst Moment: Going down in 1987/88

Funniest Moment: Dennis Wise mocking the Galatasary fans when on the bus from the airport to the hotel

Best Manager: Has to be Jose - I was never his biggest fan as a person but I don't care about personalities all that much when it comes to Chelsea. The man delivered in spades.

Worst Manager: Overall I would say Geoff Hurst but in my era of 'awareness' (i.e. from John Neal to current day) I would have to pick Scolari

Favourite Player: Kerry Dixon

Least Favourite Player: Andy Townsend - in life you can seperate people into groups, those you dislike a bit, those you have no time for, those you caught shagging your dog, those you caught shagging your wife, those who committed genocide and then at the bottom of the pile is Andy Townsend.

Best Chant/Song: Always enjoyed it when 'White Wall of the Shed' kicks off

Actually your "life" would fit in that too....but then again, you might amongst those of us who consider the 2 to be 1 and the same! hahaha

If I remember correctly, Peter Bonetti was injured and definitely out, and our reserve keeper Steve Sherwood was in the midlands somewhere and had to try to get to the Bridge. Trouble was, the game was played on 27 December, and public transport was virtually non-existent, and although he made it to the Bridge before kick-off, the team-sheets had already been handed in and so Webbie was our keeper for the day. Remember it like it was yesterday!

We've had ups and downs but what are your memories of:

Best Moment Seeing Chelsea defeat Bolton 1-0 in 2003, when my wife and I took our first trip to the Bridge.

Worst Moment Not buying a Stamford the Lion stuffed doll when I was at the Bridge in 2003 (just my luck, they changed the design to a stupid looking lion in 2004, and I have had no luck finding the old design since then).

Funniest Moment Don't have one. Happiest moment was when we won our first title under Jose.

Best Manager My favourite manager is Claudio Ranieri, followed closely by Gianluca Vialli

Worst Manager John Hollins

Favourite Player Ed de Goey (don't know why, but he is my fav!).

Least Favourite Player Veron (not only was he sh*te for us, but we paid our biggest rival a load of cash for the bum, making it doubly bad).

Best Chant/Song Blue is the Colour

Also What Does Being a Chelsea Fan Mean To You? For a while, I felt like the only Chelsea fan over here in the States, but now I know that there are loads of us over here. All in all, I feel proud to be associated with such a good club, with an excellent fan base who are not stuck up (like the Mancs and Ratmuncher fans).

Steve Sherwood is another name i'd completely forgotten. if you asked me who our reserve keeper was back then, i'd have said John Phillips.

You're right, John Phillips was our second keeper, but for some reason I can't remember, he was ruled out of that game too.

Steve Sherwood made his debut in the very next game away at Derby, where we lost 0-1. That was my first Chelsea away game outside of London, paid for by my wages and Christmas tips as paper boy. That was my first time on a Football Special too, not to mention my first proper punch-up at a match, great day out apart from the result! :D

I've got to say that it's nice to read threads like these because I get a chance to read of memories from a time before I supported Chelsea. You golden oldies do have a lot to share with us young, less experienced supporters :JC_doubleup:

Best Moment: Makelele scoring his first goal for us. Titles are great (haven't experienced a promotion yet, so I can't say what that's like), and that first one in 50 years was amazing, but that goal from Makelele still gives me goosebumps. The pure joy from the teammates just makes it so memorable.

Worst Moment: Terry slipping on the penalty shoot-out. Really broke my heart. And all the dire referees we've encountered in the CL must be on this list as well. We've been screwed so many times it's amazing.

Funniest Moment: Not sure. Mourinho saying something funny usually cracks me up though. Back when he was still funny I mean...

Best Manager: Hiddink. I know Jose was brilliant and he brought us loads of success, but there's just something about Hiddink that makes me love him above all the rest. He could walk into a dressingroom filled with the players with p*ss poor attitude and when they would come out it would be a team filled with morale, respect and a will to help eachother. He's simply brilliant.

Worst Manager: I'm sure there have been many abysmal managers throughout our history, but I have to go with Scolari. He didn't even make sure that the players were in top condition. He forgot that training stamina and such might be important when facing a long and hard season. I'll never forgive him.

Favourite Player: Makelele. I'm a huge fan of him and I loved having him here. Of course, players like Zola, Lamps, Terry, Drogs and Essien (and a few older ones) comes really close.

Least Favourite Player: Many. Kezman is number one though. I had high hopes when he joined us seeing as he had scored loads for his old team. But he was f*cking awful at Chelsea. Whenever he played I gave up hoping for a win.

Best Chant/Song: Celery. It's slightly dirty. That's why I like it ;)

Also What Does Being a Chelsea Fan Mean To You?

I'm not too fussed about how long one has supported the team or whether one has watched every game. I don't care if, at times when things are rough, one momentarily gives up and I don't care if you don't hate teams like Spurs, Pool etc. Nor do I look down on you for perhaps liking other teams. And what do I care if you don't spend loads of money on shirts, books, DVDs and other Chelsea related stuff.

Being a Chelsea fan for me means that you love the club; that you would not consider supporting another team; that you support the team, even when times are rough.

I think that's all.

ah derby. i went there a few times. the ones that stand out are one i managed to miss because i was on holiday - that game, the legendary first game of the season when we also lost 1-0, and a few years later during the away travel ban. there were no specials or other official transport, but 1,000s of Chelsea fans turned up, so many that they had to open up a side terrace to let us all in!

Best Moment Winning the double,Gronkjaers goal against scousers

Worst Moment, Gotta be JT slip cant even watch with out a tear to the eye feel so much for that bloke

Funniest Moment Mourinhos face when Tiago scored a scorcher

Best Manager Mourinho but Ancelotti getting there and you cant under estimate old Avram getting us to CL final

Worst Manager Scolari

Favourite Player Zola has to be, his goal against Norwich is one of the best goals I've ever seen

Least Favourite Player Stephen Hunt Gallas (now even more hated for being a y*d)

Best Chant/Song Blue Day or Carefree or just plain Chelsea never fails to get those hairs on the back of your neck up

Also What Does Being a Chelsea Fan Mean To You?

Everything as my dad brought me up learning to support the greatest team and I will support them till the day I die even if its a Conference side as long as its Chelsea, Chelsea is a way of life its a thing of beauty and a love and passion which is indescribable

Best Moment: no question, Wayne Bridge 87th minute at the Library. That was when I realized the future would be blue. HMs to the Frank's 2008 CL goal against Liverpool after his mother's passing (the moment had me in tears myself), 4-2 game against Barca, and beating Stoke City 2 years ago in the final minutes (nearly tore my living room apart in celebration)

Worst Moment,: Moscow. A close second was watching the 2002 FA cup with a gooner cousin, just had a feeling it would be our day and to lose it late was just a bodyblow.

Funniest Moment: Jose's voyuer spat with Wenger, and just about anything else he did.

Best manager: no question Jose for the titles, but Carlo is quickly getting up there for the man and his achievements

Worst manager: LFS

Fav player: For a time Duffer, but consistently its been Lamps. Sheva was one of my favorites when signed but oh how that turned to dust

Least fav: I always thought of Petit as a gooner, and hate him even more now that he's gone. Took me a while to warm up to A. Cole, and Robben and SWP used to hugely frustrate me.

Song/chant: I love hearing the liquidator. Hearing that ring around Wembley as Guus paraded the FA cup was one of my best memories.

What does it mean to me: living and dying with the team. When your whole week has the potential to be ruined over what the result is, its terrible and wonderful all at once.

Best Moment Winning over the dippers in the CL Semi Final at the Bridge to reach our first CL Final. What a moment that was.

Worst Moment Loosing out on the CL Trophy in Moscow, absolutely devestated and was in a bad mood for about a week. Did not make it better to have Mancs in the same class the next day in school.

Funniest Moment There are just so many Mourinho moments that I can pick from but on of the best ones for me was when Drogba scored away against Everton and he got up running like a mad man, just hilarious.

Best Manager Jose Mourinho no doubt, so far at least.

Worst Manager Scolari, what a joke of a manager to be fair, glad he is gone.

Favourite Player Essien

Least Favourite Player Gallas the c**t.

Best Chant/Song Carefree and blue flag.

Funniest Moment an interview with vinny jones, hitchy and allen after an fa cup win against everton in 92...the bbc sh*t themselves that afternoon

Best Manager: Jose
