May 31, 20233 yr Yeah Forrest spent 40mill on MGW after 1 good season in the Championship. CHO should be going for 20mill.

May 31, 20233 yr CHO is earning some crazy money as well, another player disrupting the salary structure. He can't stay here, sit on the bench and earn more than Madueke, Mudryk and Enzo. Time to part ways. If he can't play for Leverkusen he can't play for us.

This is going to be the theme throughout the summer i reckon. These players that we try to move on will not get parity for their wages elsewhere so they will get marooned here as they are all on money islands. Pochettino has to have the minerals to pick his squad of 23 - 25 players and if there are another 8 still here he just has to cut them loose and the club have to swallow the fact that they will be on big dough whilst being on the golf course until their contracts expire. Hopefully some players will have a bit more ambition than just money and the thought of never playing football again until their contracts expire may encourage them to take a drop in salary to get their moves in order to kick start their careers again.
May 31, 20233 yr Slightly controversial opinion: we'd be better off with Asensio in the squad than with Havertz. Or is it even controversial?

I've been reading he wants a clear out of up to 15 players. Don't think he will reach that number yet sounds good that he realises we need better players or targeting specific type of players. I guess we will all see at one player go that we will personally miss.

I guess we will all see at one player go that we will personally miss. I think that where it will impact us fans is that i can't see them easily moving on players bought under Todd Lasso's watch. Am i surprised that RLC, Mount, CHO, Chalobah, Gallagher Ziyech, Kovacic, Pulisic, Havertz are the ones being brought up by the press recently as possible ,overs. Absolutely not, they are all on contracts based loosely around some form of reality. Despite what anyone thinks of the worh of Koulibaly, Cucurella, Sterling Etc, they are going nowhere on permanent deals, not on 250k a week, locked in for 5,6,or 7 years,
June 1, 20233 yr Kante has not signed a new contract and will be available as a Free Agent. Carney Chukwuemeka will go on loan. The exodus has begun. And it is not entirely to our liking. mount kova RLC kante ziyech pulisic Azpi cucurella to all leave AND some others. . . .15 or so
June 1, 20233 yr The clear out is necessary. Utmost respect for Kante, and Kova to an extent on his day, but neither are available often enough for Chelsea. The one that does bug me is Mount - I believe we’ll come to regret that. this also means we have to address midfield, which is stating the obvious. But we played last season without a recognized true striker - imagine if we added to that with a lack of central mids!
June 1, 20233 yr Chelsea have rejected a £30 million offer from Brighton for Levi Colwill. Chalobah wanted in italy and Koulibaly may return to Italy.

Who saw that coming? Signing Enzo has been great - he is truly the best young midfield player in the world. You would think that players would be forming a line to play alongside him. Joao Felix liked his time in england and looks set to go on loan to Newcastle. Edited June 1, 20233 yr by TheCeleryKing

Agree, and hopefully Ugarte comes thru and players like Santos or Casadei (top scorer at U20 WC, coming from no.8 role) are the real deal.

Can Gusto [RB] cover on the left side? Kante is released and Kovacic is leaving. We are after Ugarte and we are also after another DM . An Argentinian . . . We have an Argentinian manager and we have the Enzo. Apparently we are trying to sign DM Leandro Paredes now. Leandro is the player who blasted the ball into the Dutch bench during the World Cup - so he is fiesty

Therefore Cucurella to Barcelona to replace Alonso along with Aubameyang for Kounde might work. Kounde apparently can play either full back positions or CB. Could all be Barca sh*t again though.

I thought Kounde was upset at playing at RB rather than CB for Barcas and that was why he was upset with the Barcelona folks. Cucurella they can have - would they pay for him though? I guess they have a lever to pull.
June 3, 20233 yr I’ve seen that Pochettino is interested in Real Madrid’s Valverde. He would be a very good option, but unlikely to come here.
