We lost 3-2 but won the return leg 7-1 when the weather at the Bridge was a lot better. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/10/a-moment-in-time1.html Remember that, Vialli came off the bench to score an amazing goal dribbling through the Trondheim defence.

October 24, 20178 yr Not the clearest picture but can make out a few faces e.g. Sexton, Kember, Medhurst and Hay. Think Garland, Hollins and Harris are also in the picture. Edited October 24, 20178 yr by Boyne

Webby kept a clean sheet that day, and funnily enough in the return match at Ipswich, Webb played up front and scored 2 goals !!

Looking at the shed terrace barrier they are the old ones which I believe were changed for the 78/79 season but there is also a fence at the front and don’t remember that being there 78/79

Yeah if I remember correctly Gullitt wanted it to be abandoned because of the weather yet it looks great reminiscing and seeing the snow as you just don't see games like that anymore. One to tell the kids and grandchildren about!
October 26, 20178 yr Regarding the 1963 Boxing Day fixtures on the previous page. Is that the single highest scoring day in the top Division of English football?
October 26, 20178 yr Thought we were playing at Anfield in the above picture. Not so sure, due to lack of red and white in the stand ?

One to tell the kids and grandchildren about! I was talking to a Norwegian a couple of months back and he is from Tromso. I said i have been and it snows a lot. He automatically said you are from Chelsea!! Oh how we laughed about that night. He said they were confident for the return leg lol

Remember seeing that picture in august 1983, and in my time don't think we'd signed so many players in a pre season, so I was living in hope more than expectation. In my opinion that picture has become quite iconic to me.
