Remember in one of the next home programmes they had action pictures from the Pompey game, there's some good pictures of the west stand benches and everyone seems to be dressed in Patrick or Adidas rain jackets, essential waterproof clothing for Budding casuals Edited December 24, 20178 yr by chi blue Spelling

Was that the game where they had a small mob in middle of the shed surrounded by the o.b. And they eventually had it on there toes? How come we had a tidy firm at Highbury yet 2 days later we let that happen?

Had to hitch hike up from Chichester that day as no trains were running from the south-coast. Got to Victoria as the Chelsea fans were returning from the match to be told we got hammered in the game but we took the north bank. Next day we were home to West Ham and I got decked when they came up the stairs and poured into the Shed early on

They were bang in the middle, Chelsea either side and a line of old bill separating everyone. Lotss of coin chucking but no fighting other than when they came up the steps. It was almost identical to us at Arsenal other than we stayed in the Northbank the whole match and there were a hell of a lot more of us.

Pikeys have always done it, to there credit they are always well organised.... always arrive early get in a home pub and get surrounded by old bill who then escort them to the ground. Few years ago they came by boat. Where we used to have smaller mobs and not organised. I remember going to Forest away when 2 chelsea mobs squared up to each other.

Did West Ham take the Shed in 78? 79 was the night game, they had a couple of small mobs that didn't make any inroads. 80 was quite early in the season and West Ham were well outside the roof other side of the tea bar with our mob right next to them.

They never took the Shed after ‘77. The night game they weren’t in there, the others they did in small mobs but got nowhere.

Before all the redevelopment of the bridge was done, it didn't matter which angle you looked at the east stand there was just something about it. It seemed space age. Even now on match days, when your in the ground and look up at the stands, the east stand is the one that catches the eye for longer, the old girl has seen some things over the last 40 odd years.

Watching the match is great, second to none. Trying to have a half time piss or buy a beer is a f**king ordeal.
