Wolves at home fa cup quarter final, remember going, and my Mrs was heavily pregnant with our first child, 3 days later he popped out, where the hell have those 26 years gone. Funny thing is everytime we have had a baby Chelsea have always been in the following fa cup final, 94, 97, 02, 09, did mention that to my Mrs recently, she wasn't the slightest bit interest, unfortunately can't sprinkle any more lucky dust as we are both 50.

The lattice work on the old stand looks like Archibald Leitch’s work. Proper ground Goodison. Along with both Sheffield Clubs still has on old school feel to it- surprised it didn’t create a better atmosphere- Scousers are known for their wit but it doesn’t seem to translate into football songs- bit of a limited back catalogue “ Everton, Everton, Everton” and that’s about it. I think there are due to upsticks to new ground- wonder whether that’ll get put on ice?

When did the old North stand come down, my first game was 83 and it wasn't there then, I am guessing mid to late 70's

Pretty sure it came down in the 76-77 season. I've asked before, but don't think anyone replied: Did anyone on here ever sit in the upper deck of the old North Stand?

It's already gone by December 1976 as shown in the background of this game v Wolves on 11th Dec 76,

April 18, 20206 yr It's still standing in this match photo v Southampton on 30th Oct 76. We won 3-1. I'm trying to find a photo of the Fulham game on Mon 27th Dec. As it shows fans crowded on the building site where the Stand had been not long before !
April 18, 20206 yr Remember when I started going in 77/78 the corner terrace was all new with yellow crash barriers. The rest of the stadium had the old ones which were changed that summer

April 18, 20206 yr I was at both the Southampton and the Fulham game. Huge crowds for both. The first was Ossie's return to the Bridge a couple of years after we sold him. The second was the post-Christmas derby when Fulham had Best, Bobby Moore and Rodney Marsh playing for them. Eddie Mac's kids won both games. Happy days!
