October 1, 20169 yr Starting to get into MyClub on PES. First time playing it. Though not too different from Master League, it's quite good fun.

I perhaps enjoyed the sequel, Banjo Tooie, even more! Mainly because you could separate the characters and soar around as Kazooie.

I bought the RARE boxset for Xbox One so its has all 3 BK games, including nuts and bolts. Weve just started on Twooie the last week. Its great for me, she plods along then I take over when it gets a bit tough. Rather that than her wanting to play Rabbids all the time.
October 4, 20169 yr I don't know if you guys saw it, but last year some of the creators of BK had a kick starter to raise mony for a new game. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playtonic/yooka-laylee-a-3d-platformer-rare-vival
October 5, 20169 yr Been playing FIFA and its an excellent game. I converted from PES to Fifa since the 14 edition and this is by far and away the best version I've played. This is not just a honeymoon period for me, I know I'll enjoy it for a long time. Everything about it is just so fluid, from the passing to the shooting. I love the way you have to set yourself up to release the perfect pass/shot. For example, I was playing co-op with a mate and recieved the ball in the box at an awkward angle. I had to really set myself up and take a couple of touches to get the shot off but I was tackled. On previous versions all you have to do is press shoot and the play will likely release a good shot no matter his stance which is so unrealistic. Like you could also play the perfect cross on the turn if you are facing towards the corner flag. All unrealistic IMO, but EA have now got this game worked to a tee. Bravo
October 5, 20169 yr Going to pick up Mafia 3 on Friday, not played the previous ones but I don't think it matters. Been gagging for something that I can really sink some hours into, there's been a barren spell of quality single player games for a few months now. I did get the Bioshock collection, played through the first one and then traded it in, just wasn't scratching that itch for me and personally I don't think the gameplay has stood the test of time, the gun play especially feels really clunky compared to modern day FPS games. Bought myself the Arkham Knight DLC to tide me over... man those games play so well, I forgot how fluid and fun the combat system is.

Bravo I find this FIFA pretty poor tbh. I spent 2 weeks hammering PES beforehand so I think that ruined the experience of FIFA for me. PES is so fluid that moving to FIFA it feels like the players have concrete in their boots and have the turning circle of a dumper truck. Looks wise and atmosphere it's a stunning looking game but gameplay it's years behind PES.
October 5, 20169 yr Let us know what Mafia is like @ForeverCarefree. I tempted to get it if it's any good. Next game I think will be Battle field 1 in a couple of weeks.

However, I really disagree with the movement of players being slow in Fifa 17. Fifa 16 I agree but not Fifa 17. It's particularly a joy to play with Hazard. He's so fluid and moves exactly like how he does in real life. As I said, I appreciate the game requiring you to have the ball in the right position to execute certain moves, whichcan force players onto their weaker foot for example, making their passes less accurate etc…Game winner for me. For the record, I absolutely hated Fifa 16 and nearly returned it but I persisted.
October 6, 20169 yr Can't wait for BF1. The demo was epic and probably the best shooter I've ever played. I haven't enjoyed an FPS since COD MW2 (I don't know why this game gets such bad reviews) which is the GOAT IMO.

There is no player ID at all so players all feel the same to me unless it's one of the huge stars. With PES they have put the time in to make players have their own unique abilities true to their real life counterparts and that really makes the game all the more satisfying. I'll complete the Journey then trade in for Mafia at the weekend I think.

October 7, 20169 yr Sick and tired of all this futuristic stuff with wall jumping and so many gadgets. I liked the killstreaks in MW2 as it was fresh but it became too overdone in later versions. I love the destructive environments and the weather changes which force you to change your playing style. Also I think it's crucial that you party up with a squad of friends to get the most out of the game.
October 7, 20169 yr Didn't like the BF beta at all, I was pretty disappointed but then I'm no fan of the gamemodes that were on offer plus the map was a bit poor IMO. I'm more a team or all out deathmatch player. If those modes are decent then I'll no doubt pick it up. Strange that no copies were sent out to reviewers for Mafia (Hence the lack of any reviews going about) that's usually a bad sign.

I don't think so. Doom and The Devision didn't send out preview copies and they were two of the better games to come out this year (in my opinion). I just think some developers have realised they don't need favourable reviews to help sell their games, they can create enough hype through marketing. By not sending out preview copies it helps avoid big spoilers etc leaking and ruining the experience. Personally it doesn't bother me and I think we're going to see it more often... If you need a review to help decide if you'll buy a game, then you can always just wait a week or two after a release to pick it up.

Hmm it could be that of course although I have read over the past few days there is some unease around the finished product which lead me to my post above. I like to gather a fair few pieces on games before I play them especially for the ones that don't offer any demos/beta's like Mafia. it doesn't seal the deal but it's a good way to get a general feel for a game I find. I wasn't a fan of the Division at all for some reason, just couldn't get into it. Doom was good although they games always were back in the day and you know what you are getting with them.
