Any game recommendation?

I find the problem with gaming these days is an over abundance of games available, expecially on Steam. I've lost count of the number of times I've spent like £10-20 on a game on Steam, played it for about 30 mins and never touched it again. There are just so many to choose from, what with all these free-to-play games and early access games as well. Games used to be a bit investment, so you had to be sure you wanted it before heading into town and spending £30-40 on it. Now it's so easy and so many to choose from... I think as weird as it sounds, that having so many games available and having it so easy for new developers to get their games out there, is actually hurting the gaming industry, because of the over saturation.

My poor poor steam library...so full of cheap games.

I only just got Skyrim. I had it on PS3, and didn't enjoy it. I found the controller made it more difficult to move around and spot things quickly. I find I have more control on the keyboard and mouse. Plus, I love being able to quicksave, which I need since I'm awful at games based on first person combat. I'm having fun now though.

But there's so many other games I still need to play. I rarely buy brand new games anymore...I can wait a few months before they go on sale, and get it at good value.

I bought Wolf Among Us in the sales, and I love it...basic game mechanics, but an interesting story.

Ive never been able to get into AC games, same as GTA games. They start of impressive but then get so unbelievably samey and I just lose interest.

I couldnt agree more. I did get the last GTA because i was sold on the online side of it but it turned out to be utter dog poop.

I agree with you to an extent but I think the best thing to do is to stick to playing the type of games that you enjoy to avoid getting to bogged down in the constant releases.

I think the amount of coverage and freedom indie developers are being given makes it so there is an endless supply of games coming out but for me personally I can only play the odd indie game every now and then as I generally don't find them that much fun... But then something like Hotline Miami comes out and I'll play the sh*t out of it.

There's certain types of games I know outright I won't really enjoy playing so I just avoid them and focus on the games I like.

With my PS4 there's probably 1 game a month coming out that I'm interested in which works well for me because it means I can put the time in without building up a backlog and then rushing through some games that I might enjoy more from putting the time in.

On a side note, I gave up on trying to platinum Watch Dogs, the drinking games trophy was too hard, boring and tedious for me to want to put the time in to achieve it so after finishing the story line and having an overall completion of around 95% I felt like I had got my moneys worth out of it and I was unlikely to play through it again so I traded it in and picked up Wolfenstien.

I've gone straight in to playing it on Uber difficulty as I thought I might as well give myself a challenge.

Nothing too exciting in the opening chapters but at I've just begun the 14 years later part so I'm expecting it to start improving.

I like that you can choose to play sections stealth but my general inpatients generally means I end up dual wielding assault rifles instead.

I'm not expecting it to be one of the greatest games I've ever played but if it keeps me occupied and entertained for a couple of weeks then I'll be happy, then I'll look to trade it in for Sniper Elite 3.

It should do exactly that, keep you entertained for a few week blast. Not the greatest game, doesn't redefine anything etc but a really good and entertaining fps.

Sniper 3 is quality. Its so frustrating and challenging.

Anyone looking forward to a couple of zomboe games on the PS4? Theres Dead Island 2 and Daylight coming out which look good. Shame they are first person though.

I want a new Dead Island or Left 4 Dead game. Thats all i want. Its not that much to ask is it?

Dead Island was OK I suppose, but got well boring after a while. Didn't even bother with riptide as it was the same game but different faces from what I saw.

Left 4 Dead 3 would be nice though. Was a fun game if you got into a lobby with the right people. When friends weren't online, mostly wound up with irritating kids who weren't even old enough to be playing and you'd wind up getting kicked for no reason despite being the only one not dying.

I buy online adult rated games because I want to game with people my own age. Not babysit someones hyperactive twelve year old.

Just started my now apparently traditional annual playthrough of Deus Ex. Every time I've played it I've discovered loads of new stuff - hopefully the novelty value can extend to another playthrough!

Deus Ex!!! Awesome game. One thing I miss about my old 360. Only mqnaged one play through though as I was a busy musician at the time. Hope they do another one on current gen.

Anyone else looking forward to The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisiton?

Not to mention Destiny too.

Yes, yes, and yes. All 3 look excellent.

On a sidenote, I went out and treated myself to the new UFC game. What a disappointment. The graphics are fantastic (not as good as the trailers though), but the controls are absolutely ridiculous. Blocking takedowns works once every ten attempts, which makes fights against submission artists or ground and pound specialists a pain in the backside, plus the submission system is crap. Career mode was boring too. Fight, watch a generic video of a fighter congratulating you, do 3 repetitive training exercises, rinse and repeat.

No other options or imagination to it at all. At least the game face was better this year. That's where my avatar came from. They got my face and even my beard right. Even had sleeve tattoos that closely resemble mine, so that kept me going for a little bit at least.

UFC Undisputed 3 was miles better in terms of gameplay.

I definitely got my money's worth on South Park: Stick of Truth. Love the series and really enjoyed the game, though would've liked it to be longer.

Just picked up Last of Us used and am about an hour in, excited to experience it!

Just bought Divinity: Original Sin.

Masterpiece. If you like isometric top down, turn based RPGs ( Baldurs Gate etc), buy this!

I'm playing it too. Excellent game so far! I loved Baldurs Gate back in the day.

aye if you love the series the game is fantastic, felt a bit cheated with the deleted scenes though, and i finished it in two days, its not really a game that you can keep playing

I can't decide if I want to sell it back now or play it again in a couple months and go for more of the weird trophies, as well as hold out hope for some worthwhile DLC.

Is this Titanfall game any good?

It's only multiplayer. I didn't like that. I'm more of a solo gamer.

I play games to get away from people, not immerse myself with whiny kids  :laugh2:
