Any game recommendation?

Featured Replies

I think I prefer the first part of the map. There was too much climbing on the second part and not much really happened.

Yeah the first half was great fun, speeding through and climbing the huts of the shanty town.

I'm on mission 20 of 37 on MGS. I'm finding it abit easy with Quiet being able to sniper everyone off. Still a masterpiece though.

Need to get on mgs too. I remember having played mgs 3 and loved it. The story was so good. I need to get my hands on phantom pain too. I hope won't get overwhelmed much not having played ground zero or any of their other games in the series.

You can always go to the MGS wiki for some background info of Ground Zeroes.

They should have a spoiler tab if there are any references to Phantom Pain.

Nah you don't have to know too much about MGS to play it. I remember playing it years ago but don't remember too much.

It's a great game, highly recommended. It's a huge game so perhaps finish what you've got first and then move onto it.

Amazing for a full priced game to receive such overwhelmingly bad reviews.

Currently sitting at 33 out of 100 on Metacritic, that's almost unheard of.

Why they even bothered to release such a mess of a game is lost on me.

The article makes the point about Activision's license ending and therefore they rushed the game out before it expired (something I didn't know). Makes sense, money over quality. Hopefully someone else can rescue it, there must still be a market for it.

There is still a market for it but it's shrinking rapidly.

Kids these days aren't as interested in skateboarding games as we were back in those days.

The lack of skateboarding games being released these few years was probably due to the reluctance of well-established develops to make them. It's all about the money.

Sigh... Had a good time playing the series for years.

Thing is Ubisoft are a huge publisher and even if they needed to put out a game to avoid losing the licence to the title they've more than enough resources to ensure they put out something half decent.

I'm amazed they were happy to put their name to something so bad because even though they've retained the Tony Hawk franchise, who's going to want to buy anything carrying the name after this mess?

Yeah it was a real shame it was a mess. I enjoy a good skateboarding game. Skate 3 was fantastic.

Problem is, I can't really see how sports games (FIFA, Pes, Madden etc) can really be developed much more. There's only so much you can do with 11 men on a field.

Apparently they changed loads of things half way through the new TH game, which is never a good idea. Basically they bodged it to get it out, the day one patch is bigger than the actual game install.

Shame that Tony Hawk games were brilliant back in the old days.

Thinking of getting Rory Mcilroys PGA Tour 50% off on PS Store hasn't got amazing reviews but 50% off might be worth the punt surely?

Played the trial, found it pretty awful. User reviews are rubbish. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rory-McIlroy-Tour-Xbox-Standard/dp/B00KHJLUZ8/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1444852764&sr=8-1&keywords=rory+mcilroy+pga+tour#customerReviews

VR is the next stage, big things expected in the next few years going by gaming sites.

Think we'll get it on the PS5?

You're getting PSVR within 6 months.

It's done, it's ready, probably going to get a full announcement before the end of the year at either Paris Games Week or Playstation Experience.

Like Rich, I played the trial and thought it was crap. Really wanted to like it too.

Didn't play too much Tony hawks when I was younger really. I absolutely loved xtreme sports on the ps1 where you could skate, bike, skateboard, or luge I think.

One of my favourite ps2 games was ssx, which I suppose is kind of similar.
