October 15, 201510 yr Not much info is released so bear with me. You'll need a PS4 for this to work. It uses a 1920x1080 pixel display and has about 100 degree field of vision. You'll also be using at least 2 Sony Move controllers or the usual PS4 controller if you don't have them. Your head movements and orientation are tracked via the PlayStation Camera. If i'm not wrong it has numerous LEDs trackers around the headset to monitor these movements. Do check out this video too.
October 15, 201510 yr My wife will think I'm even more of a geek if I start playing with that lot on. Looks good though!
October 15, 201510 yr Finished Dying Light. Took me 14 hours apparently though I only did one, maybe two side quests. Only killed the 463 zombies - my preferred tactic was definitely to avoid them. Decent enough game - shame it finished with a QTE. I enjoyed it but probably won't come back to it for the side quests.

October 15, 201510 yr Think I spent over 40 hours on that game. It was one of those rare games for me where I actually enjoyed the plot just as much, if not more, than the gameplay. I just powered through the story, not bothering with sidequests or stopping to kill off random zombies. Completely different to something like Far Cry where I find the gameplay tremendous but the plot so-so, meaning the story missions are almost a chore and I spend hours doing random other stuff before a mission. Spending all that time in the sewers during the second half of the game was an absolute drag though.
October 16, 201510 yr Playing through phantom pain at the moment. Really enjoying it. This, Witcher 3 and hopefully Fallout are strong contenders for GOTY.
October 16, 201510 yr This, Witcher 3 and hopefully Fallout are strong contenders for GOTY. Not played Witcher - don't know if it's my type of game. Would agree about MGS though, best game I've played in a long time.
October 16, 201510 yr This, Witcher 3 and hopefully Fallout are strong contenders for GOTY. 2015 has been a really good year. Loads of top AAA games. Witcher 3, MGS V, Fallout, Star Wars Battlefront, Batman Plus loads of decent ones too like Mortal Combat X, Bloodborne, Dying Light and probably Halo & Just Cause 3. Excellent year, up there with 1998 IMO.
October 16, 201510 yr I'm very disappointed with Batman as it was almost unplayable on PC. Loads of bugs and issues as it was made by a third party developer. I should have bought the PS4 version. If they don't get any awards for this year, it's most likely due to this.
October 16, 201510 yr I do pretty much all of my gaming on my phone nowadays (I can't justify buying a console as I don't know how much I'd have time to play it) and I've always been interested in different ways to tell a story. I downloaded Lifeline (discount price and I heard it's written by the same guy who wrote the story for Wolf Among Us) and so far I'm pretty impressed. I mean it's just text, simple atmospheric music and a few sound effects, but the real time nature of it makes it fairly interesting. I managed to "die" once and had to start from the beginning, but luckily I hadn't progressed very far at that point. I'm not sure how much fun it will be to play it all over again if I "die" now or even later. Anyone know any other interesting story driven games available on Android? I've played through the Broken Sword series, Silent Age and Wolf Among Us. And I guess Machinarium falls into this category as well. The Room games are more like puzzle games, but there's a story in there. Wolf Among Us had an interesting story, but I think it felt too scripted in the sense that I didn't feel like I had very many real decisions to make. It felt more like watching a movie with some interactive stuff thrown in rather than playing a game. Broken Age seems like a must as I'm a big fan of Tim Schafer's games, but I'm not sure if it's enjoyable to play on a phone.

This might not be quite what you meant, but I enjoyed a few of the "Choice of the..." series of interactive stories. If you're familiar with the old Fighting Fantasy books then it's pretty much the same thing, only in a shorter form. Purely text based, which I liked because it meant I could play them in public without anybody knowing I'm playing a game. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.choiceofgames.dragon&hl=en Edited October 16, 201510 yr by bluedave

It's not quite what I was looking for, but I might take a look at it once I finish Lifeline. Apparently there's in app purchases... Are they necessary to enjoy the game? I don't mind paying for a game, but I prefer to pay a sum up front instead of paying something after it becomes apparent that you need to do the in app purchases to progress or enjoy a game. It always feels a bit like a cheap move. That's why I'm not all that enthusiastic about the current FIFA on Android. They've made it even harder to get good players than before. Very stingy with the money rewards and packs when you win tournaments.

Anyway, I have played quite a lot of good story-driven Android games over the last few years. They are kind subjective so do check them out in the links below. I pasted the descriptions from their Android pages. Gemini Rue: A sci-fi noir adventure in the tradition of "Blade Runner" and "Beneath a Steel Sky." Azriel Odin, ex-assassin, arrives on the rain-drenched planet of Barracus. When things go horribly wrong, he can only seek help from the very criminals he used to work for. Meanwhile, across the galaxy, a man called Delta-Six wakes up in a hospital with no memory. Without knowing where to turn or who to trust, he vows to escape before he loses his identity completely. As fate brings these two closer together, we discover a world where life is cheap, identities are bought and sold, and a quest for redemption can change the fate of a whole galaxy. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wadjeteye.geminirue.google&hl=en The Walking Dead (Both seasons) (For Season 1)As featured in TegraZone, The Walking Dead is a five-part game series (Episode 2-5 can be purchased via in-app) set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning series. Even magic itself had vanished from the world. Now, a thousand years later, humankind has remade the world through the power of iron, gunpowder, steam engines, and other machines and technologies. But there is one who possesses the lost power of magic--a young girl name Terra whom the evil Empire has kept enslaved in an effort to harness her power as weapon. Their harrowing escape from the Empire's clutches sets in motion a series of events that touches countless lives and leads to one inevitable conclusion. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFVI&hl=en The Forgotten Nightmare This Christian themed story begins with an accident. An accident that leaves you, as the player, unable to recall not only where you are, but who you are as well. Awakening in an overturned van, being suspended by your seatbelt, you must first figure a way of escape. Once free to explore the area, you find yourself in a world that not only seems strangely empty, but openly hostile as well. As the story unfolds and your memory begins to return, you begin to question whether these strange happenings are limited to the immediate area. If your experience of this small town is reflective of the state of the world, then things are certainly not as they used to be! A word of warning! This seemingly dark tale is refreshed by a large number of humorous responses that if caught unaware, may have you bursting out in spontaneous laughter. This may cause embarrassment if played in a public place. In fact, no matter how many hours are spent playing this game, it would be nearly impossible to discover every comical response. But really, could a game of this caliber truly have the power engage a player? A game without the advanced audio and video quality we’ve come to expect from modern entertainment? There is only one way to find out. Give it a try and discover why this hidden gem has quickly become loved by many who have decided to do so themselves. Some have even dared to say that it is the best game they have ever played. You may be surprised at how quickly and easily the story draws you in! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.radstersoft.theforgottennightmare&hl=en Hero of Many Hero Of Many takes you on an epic journey as a tiny hero in a dangerous world. I've been putting them off as they are Tell Tale games and I thought Wolf Among us was a bit disappointing as a game. The story was good, though. I've played The Room and Room 2 and I enjoyed them. Room 3 is supposed to come out later this year. Final Fantasy games belong to a genre I've never played, so €15 is a bit much to try and see if I like those sort of games. I understand they're quite long games, so you probably get your money's worth (and then some) if you finish them, though. I gotta say I love that you can get the older classics on mobile devices nowadays. I'd never played the original Tomb Raider on PS1, but that was a huge disappointment when I downloaded it for my phone. I'm not sure if it's a crappy port or if the original game's controls were that bad, though. Gemini Rue seems most like the type of game I've been looking for. Hero of Many seems more like a puzzle game, but it does look good. Reminded me of Badland and World of Goo.

One of few good games about the Asian culture. Completed it in nearly 25 hours when I played it a few years back.
October 16, 201510 yr Sleeping Dogs is a fantastic game. When I'm going through a quiet of games, I'm going to buy it. I think it surprised alot of people.

Never played it before but what a deal, really enjoying it. Mate mate mate Sleeping Dogs is sick. I had it on my Xbox 360 and when I got it my PS4 I bought the Definitive Edition, It's brilliant. The main thing about it, apart from the fact it's pretty much GTA in Hong Kong, is that the fighting is so good. The combos you can do look so cool and the neon lights of Hong Kong, especially when it's raining in the game, really add to the atmosphere. Whenever I go back to GTA I always lament how clunky the fighting controls are, since you can only punch and kick. There's nothing better than being able to pick someone up and then impale them on to a bed of swordfish
October 18, 201510 yr Just played gears of War 3 at my mates house on the 360. I've always enjoyed that. Plain old firing until you're out of ammo.

Had a good time playing them when my 360 was still working and as you said, it's a good old shooter game with packs of fun. Anyway, I'm very excited with the release of GOW4 next year. Guess I'll be going to my mate's house to play on his Xbone.
