Any game recommendation?

One of the best games I've ever played.

Great story and graphics. You'll get sucked into the game world within minutes and it's filled with nearly 50 hours of story content.

Have you played MGSV: Ground Zeroes before? You might want to play that first before venturing into Phantom Pain.

Cheers might have to give it a try, and nope I'm completely new to the metal gear solid franchise

Did you spill some vodka over your keyboard recently haha?

I didn't really look into each game. But a brief scan tells me that you enjoy playing indie games (so do I).

Here's what I think of some of your choices.

Niko is a really good game. Cheap, looks good and fun to play. It's something that you can venture into when you have like say half an hour of leisure time.

I think you know my stand about Phantom Pain.

Block N Load is free now and it's a good game to have. But be prepared to play with a cesspool of lone wolves who doesn't care about teamwork. There are some server issues as well.

The Flame in the Flood is still in early access, you may want to wait for the finished product. Thought the story was a little dry and the gameplay got a little repetitive over time.

I like horror games so games like SOMA and Kholat were a fun experience. They're like Amnesia and Slender Man with better gameplay and environment of course.

Have you played Limbo before? FEIST is almost similar to that. Not as good though but it's still decent.

Mad Max is pretty good. It has its flaws but I had quite a lot of fun playing it (not done yet). Think of it as a mix between Fallout and Need for Speed.

I didn't play the rest. My apologies for not being able to give you my take on them.

Oh, and when are you planning to buy them? During the Winter sale, I suppose?

Not sure, they've mostly been in my wishlist for ages already. Might just randomly pick one.

Just bought a new keyboard as well. Can't be bothered to try and work out how to fix the space key, plus it was filthy anyway. another £99 quid down the drain, but at least this is nice and clean for a few minutes.

Alright, then.

If it's only one then I would suggest getting either Niko, Mad Max or Phantom Pain if you have played Ground Zeroes.

I gave in, and bought Destiny: The Taken King

not enough extra content for it to be worth £40 in my opinion. £25 maximum

You've been duped.

The only good thing about Destiny is the multiplayer/crucible, if it wasn't for that the game would have bombed hard.

Just taken out Quiet on my first mission with a tranquilliser gun. I think it makes it abit to easy with her sniping her all the enemies out.

I've completed most of the side missions now, just got 2/3 left and I'm on mission 15 at 18%. Really enjoying it, fantastic game.

Anyone gonna pick up Assassins Creed Syndicate? Im torn whether to or not.

Same here, I love Asassian Creed games but have been unimpressed with Revalations and The last game, which I think has done a lot of damage. People seem to be very hesitate to buy their games now. I think I'll wait for the reviews and wait for it to drop down in price.

It costs around S$72 at my side, that is about £33.

IMO, it's pretty overpriced for a DLC with about 8 hours of content.

Apparently all the changes are very good and really make a better playing experience.

If you've not played Destiny before you should enjoy it.

When I bought the game when it came out I did enjoy playing it but the lack of overall content made it too repetitive too quick.

Hopefully the new changes and extra content means you get plenty of playing time from it.

I'm reinstalling Destiny to give it another go again. Apart from the crucible the game flopped really hard for me so I hope The Taken King is a big improvement.

Anyone with an Xbox One can get a free 5 day Sky Sports pass with Now TV (the start can be delayed so you haven't got to have 5 days of crappy international break).

Just get the Now TV app on Xbox One, create/go to your account and enter the voucher code "XBOXWEEK" into the sports voucher section.

I've cancelled my Sky Subscription entirely (until GoT returns in April). I was paying 92 pounds a week.

With this, I can now pay 32 pounds instead for entire sports package every month.

60 quid savings. Noice.

Cheers for this!

This is bollox. Surely you meant a month? And even then it sounds steep. Surely? I can't believe this.

I bought Dying Light and Shadows of Mordor a while ago. I started Dying Light but then got the Witcher soon after and that's all I played for months. Just going back to Dying Light now, it's actually a really good game. I underrated it in the period of playing it before the Witcher.

Yet to start Shadows of Mordor but looking forward to that too.

Dying Light was really fun.

When I first started playing it I wasn't too sure about it, the controls for the free running felt really awkward but when you settle in to it, it makes sense and I ended up rated the game really highly.

Was definitely surprised by it.

Meanwhile I am currently replaying the Uncharted trilogy after the remastered versions for PS4 came out on Friday, I'm going to look to Platinum all three games and have finished the first one on "crushing" difficulty. Just need to find about 7 more of the 60 hidden treasures and do a speed run of 3 of levels within set times to Platinum it.

Really great games, fantastic characters and story telling. Easily one of my all time favourite series of games.

I've always enjoy playing Naughty Dog's games. The Uncharted series is fantastic and is also up there as one of the best series I've played.

The Last of Us was a pleasant surprise and for PS/2 players, who could have forgotten Crash?

Halo 5 requires 60GB! of free hard drive space.

Those 500gb that came as standard are starting to look a bit stingy now aren't they?

I routinely delete the download files and save data of games I've finished/traded in so I've managed my hard drive space up to now.

If I had know how much all of the games would eat up space though I would probably have invested in a 2tb hard drive at launch.

I got a 2tb drive a while back, thank God. I think I've already used 35%

Has anyone played Dishonored?

I'm looking forward to playing the sequel next year. It looks really good.

Hopefully it's released in the summer.

I think he means a month. I was paying 112 pound a month to sky for sky sports and movies, and Internet. This wasn't even including bt sports!

I used to play quite a bit (computer, console, arcade) in the '80s, '90s and early '00s, but lately I've been playing games mainly on my phone. There's been a lot of old titles being released on mobile devices and for old times' sake, I downloaded the first two Sonic the Hedgehog games for my phone. That got me thinking about the '90s when Sega and Nintendo were battling for who is the king of the consoles. At the moment it's Playstation versus X-Box, but neither of them seem to have a very strong identity. Back in the day, Nintendo had Mario and Sega had Sonic. And as well as having these famous mascots, there were some iconic characters in other games as well. Do the current generation consoles have "a mascot" or something similar that is unique to that console? The graphics seem glorious, but what are the modern classics? It seems like first person shooters are THE thing, but most of them seem a bit generic.

Hmm, good post.

I would split the recent few consoles into their respective generations (last 3 generations). Tbh, I don't think there is a sole mascot in any consoles of the current generation (PS4 and Xbox One). That is not necessarily a bad thing as there have been loads of AAA games being released over the past few years. However, if you want to pick the more popular ones then there are PS4 games like Infamous, Last of Us, Bloodborne and Uncharted. Xbox One has only Titanfall I think.

I would say Halo was the mascot of Xbox and Xbox360. I bought these two consoles because of that game so yup it's kinda subjective. PS3 had a few, namely Kratos, Uncharted (first 3 series) and Sackboy. Oh, and PS2 had Crash and Ratchet.
