Romeu was massive out there. Mentions for Sturridge and Ramires.

Voting for Romeu (again), but Ramires was equally as good. Impressed how disciplined Sturridge was.

Danny Sturridge. Our best hope of success this season. It is almost criminal Carlo didn't show faith in him.

Mata superb as usual; brilliant touches

My nod is for Meireles. Big shoes to fill in the starting position, and laid the groundwork for the win!

Voted Ramires, he was everywhere today, he's fast becoming my favourite player. Romeu had a dodgy start, but when he settled down he was also magnificent, as were Sturridge, Mata, Drogba, Meireles, Cole, Bosingwa, JT, Ivan and Cech...

Sturridge, he made both goals, gotta commend him for that.

Ramires and Mata were also great as well. Drogba deserves a mention for his amazing ball control at the end of the match to kill the clock

Romeu was immense, for a 20 year old to settle so quickly into the English league is astounding.

Coul be 1 of 7 or 8 but I'm going for Rambo

but ran very close by the usual suspects ( ramires, sturridge, mata ) i think mata is deceptively effective even when he seems to have a quiet game

and run even closer by raul meireles

I would give it to Chelsea, but since that is not an option I went with Ramires. Admitedly I missed large parts of the game, but from what I saw Ramires looked great.

Went for Romeu in the end but it could have anyone of the lot.

Not looking to put a downer on things but ive noticed;

- Meireles pussys out of tackles all the time

- Mata is not a winger

- AVB is king.

Our midfield was immense tonight but Mireles just pipped Romeu and Ramires for me...

Nice to have so many candidates for a change. Meireles had poss his best game for us, Danny was a menace whenever he got on the ball and Ramires really came into the game 2nd half but for such ayoung man playing in his first big game in this country Romeu gets the nod.

Mata for me should be playing in the middle not winger that man can find the pass, one more thing yes yes yes we needed that well done to all of the team ::clap2:: ::ChELSeAFaN::

Romeu for me. Thought he was excellent and is fast becoming by favourite Chelsea player along with Ramires.

Sturridge, he made the goals happen. Chelsea's biggest attacking threat by a long way.

Second place goes to Ramirez. Tireless, his runs upset City.

Romeu had a shaky start, as was noted above. Finished well. Meireles may have scored the first goal but he made a lot of mistakes today. Was caught on the ball and dispossessed too often. I was glad to see him subbed.

Honorable mention to the manager for seeing that he got his tactics wrong and changing them halfway through the first half. That decision won the game for Chelsea.

Not quite sure where the plaudits for Meireles are coming from, as above, despite his goal I thought he was no where to be seen in the second half and was quite sloppy otherwise - obviously in the 2nd he was too cautious about hhis booking (and rightly so mind) and generally looked tired. Not a bad performance at all, but not quite deserving of all the attention.

Romeu however, was fantastic - a few minor mistakes in the first half but grew into the game brilliantly and controlled everything - very unlucky to be booked. He's looking very composed for a 20 year DM and exactly what we've been needing. MoTM performance for him!

Mention to Drog and Studge - Drog held it up very well and saved us in the first half by offering that outlet to relieve the pressure (they were very good). Sturridge gave Clichy a hiding which was brilliant although still needs to work on his defensive duties if he's going to continue playing as a winger.. Mata was quality again, there was one bit of skill that was absolutely breathtaking - must've looked even better on TV too!

We did a good job, although i've not seen a team do to us what City did in the first 20/25 mins - they completely outclassed us.

Sturridge was awesome scared the life out of clichy..........a star is born.

As well as Oriol played I've gone for Mata. That was the performance that really convinced me that he is the real deal.

Interestingly, given how good City were early on, Cech was a long long way from being at risk of getting MOTM. In other words, he had little to do.

I was surprised how quiet silva was, he tore united apart. He wasnt in the game really. All the team played well. I voted for Romeu, same reasons as those discussed.
