Chelsea v Bayern Munich (CL Final) 19/05/12 KO 19:45 BST

Featured Replies

Just the usual twitter stuff so far, most say he missed due to a cold but a few are saying he also injured his foot during a training session.

I'm checking on German press, internet and tv media plus the club website. We have no injury problems. Just the suspended players as you have.

Except for Sunderland, my mum is from Sunderland. I remember mum and me supporting Chelsea on tv in the 1970 FA cup final as we Sheffielders hate Leeds.

Mum has lived in Sheffield since she was 4, she is almost 80 now but is still a season ticket holder at Sheffield United and will be at Wembley for the play off final v Huddersfield the week after our game.

Think of my old mum on the 26th and keep your fingers crossed for the Blades lads !

My dad is a blade so they are my second side, tough game for them hope they pull it off. Evans "off the field" activeties screwed them out of the 2nd place imo.

Far as the final goes, read on Sky Lahm was very confident the home field advantage has already proven to be the deciding factor and has a (rightful) pop at JT for how he got sent off in Barca.

Great time for all this to be coming out, If Robbies mind is not fully concentrated on the Job and again Roman loses out on the CL, hes only got himself to blame.

whatever is decided should be at least kept quiet until this seasons finished.

Plenty more comments like this please, a manager that boasts he has won before a ball is kicked is a fool asking for a sucker punch.

Is it just me being optimistic, or is the thought of Bayern thinking they have home advantage when they've never played in front of 17,500 Blues and only 17,500 of their owns fans before?

Does the home advantage really even count if we have the same number of fans in the stadium ?

You guys do not believe it will be an even split of fans do you? Most of the "neutral tickets" will end up in the hands of Bayern fans imo.

Lahm is the Bayern captain not manager coco lol

It may not be an even split but it's still gonna be the loudest cheers for the visitors they've ever heard at home, and the loudest boos aimed at them, by an order of magnitude.

Yeah, Lahm's not the manager, lol, but it's still a pretty arrogant thing to say. Chickens before they've hatched, etc. I really get the feeling Bayern thinks they're entitled to this trophy and should have it handed to them now without having to work for it. Personally I'm happy to let them and their fans underestimate Chelsea. It'll only serve us well.

""Abramovich has wanted to win the Champions League for so long," said the France international.

"If they lose it on Saturday then it will be brutally tough.

"It would ruin them in the head and lower morale.""

Predicting not only our downfall on Saturday but for a long time after it seems.

From the article about Bayern: "And they are determined not to be left with a hat-trick of runners-up prizes."

You know what they say about bad news, right? It always comes in threes.

I'd take any press reports on what players of either side have "said" with a pinch of salt tbh.

I suppose it does depend on how the dimensions of the pitch differ from Stamford Bridge and the style that we're trying to play.

The dimensions are the exact same for both pitches: 105 by 68 metres. Ours does look smaller, but that's it basically.
