We are on Sky on the opening day of every season its fantastic.

So the interesting question is what will the line up be for first game of the season. 3 points in the first game are just as valuable as 3 points in the last game.

In reality its likely we will still be working on transfers as the season starts.

Right this second I'm not convinced the team will be that much stronger at the start of the season. Hazard is in but a number of other players have left. So net net are we ahead just now?

Pretty sure that Mata isn't avaliable due to the olympics. Do we start Hazard in the center and marin wide? Maybe Oscar center and Hazard wide. Just have to see how pre season goes.

Yeah, either of those options would be fine. But for how long is Mata not going to play before he returns?

If we sign Oscar he is also going to the Olympics which would make him miss out if Brazil go all the way. So maybe your first option?

Ah i remember that game so well . Feels so long ago now.

I remember Drogba being a bit mad at Frank for not letting him take the pen lol, the guy ended up scoring and winning the golden boot anyway, thought it was funny.

I kinda still miss Carlo, he was such a classy coach and person.

Mourinho's first league game in charge was this fixture. I remember it with Crespo scoring an injury time beauty.

I think we'll breeze it this time 4-0.

Sky Sports have been good to us ! A good start against Wigan is a must. This would be my starting eleven.

The reason I picked Luiz over Cahill : I agree Cahill is a more reliable player defensively but everytime Luiz plays hes seems to venture forward and make something happen when we're looking a bit flat. Also it feels like Terry and Cahill are a bit similiar when playing from the back, Luiz adds a bit more agility, speed and looks more comfortable on the ball than anyone else we have in that position. In other words the partnership is more balanced. .

You're off a season - that was the opener his second year.

His actual first league game was 1-0 at home to Man U, Eidur with the goal.

Slightly pissed off that it's not a Saturday 3pm kick off as Wigan's normally a cracking town for a good pre-match beer session.

That said, really looking forward to our first proper game as European Champions and first sight of Hazard and Marin
