Just watching some footage of the Champions League celebrations.

It got me thinking of any great chelsea players who deserved to feel being on the open top buses, parading through London having the adulation of the Fans, This is more a question for the older generation

One player who i would of loved to see get a premiership was Carlo Cuidicini, We all loved him ! and still do and was great to see him walk out at the bridge and have his name cheered by the supporters but im pretty sure he must go down as one of the unluckiest players of all time, it was 50/50 between him and cech for the no 1 jersey when cech arrived and cech come in and was just superb.

Thats correct but what i mean is, surely for him it doesnt feel the same as being A PART of a winning team. he wont feel he contributed

i wonder if the likes of say a Pat Nevin won anything as a chelsea player

We won it twice, once with Nevin in 86, It was not sponsored until 87 by Simod. When we won it in 1990 it was the Zenith Data Systems Cup.

Nevin won the D2 championship in '84, as well as the FMC.

Yup. FMC vs Man City (5-4) in 1986 and ZDS vs Boro (1-0) in 1990.....although you can't really call them major trophies. Nevin was in the 86 side....think he set up two of Speedie's goals.....but he had left by the time we beat Boro in 90. Sold to Everton in 1988. Hasselbaink never won a 'major' trophy with us did he?

Good shout. Only played for 4 seasons though right? He more-or-less carried those Chelsea sides to mid-table. Without him, relegation probably would have occurred sooner than it did.

I have always thought that rule about not playing enough games sucked. What if you scored the goal that won you the premier league but because you didn't play enough you don't get a medal ? it's stupid. I think if you are part of a winning team you should get a medal even if you have only played 1 game.

Andy Townsend. Probably wouldn't classify as a "great" player but he was our best player from 1990-1993 in my humble opinion. It was a real shame he left in 1993 because I rated him and I think he would have been a valuable contributor to our mid to late 90s teams too.

Other than that it could be anyone who played for us prior to 1955, couldn't it? Hughie Gallagher, Tommy Lawton, George Hilsdon etc.

Are the rules different now? Don't the club get up to about 20 medals, and they choose who the medals

go to? or is it just in the cup competitions? I'm sure I read it somewhere.

Jimmy Greaves wanted to come back to Chelsea when he returned from Italy, but the club weren't interested - that's why he ended up at Tottenham.
