Anyone else think Torres has put on a little bit more size?

I think he has been hitting the weights in the gym recently.

Hopefully he has so he can adapt his game, take Shearer for instance he didn't let a serous knee injury stop him from scoring goals he just changed the way he played.

How can anyone compare Shearer to Torres? Does anyone think Torres can be better than last season or is it just wishful thinking? I certainly hope he gets better.

He wasn't he was just saying when Shearer got a bad injury he adapted his game so maybe Torres gaining some size is a sign he might go the same way.

In any case the less we see of Torres the more it means Costa is starting and keeping fit and suspension free so let's hope for that.

That wasn't even my point way to put words into my mouth. Maybe you should take your own advice and read posts properly. My point was when Torres list a yard he should have taken a leaf out of Shearer's book and adapted his game.

Torres always starts the season off reasonably well which is really strange then he just fades off. So maybe he'll feature a fair few times early on and be shipped out in Jan for a replacement (I can dream can't i?)

Torres is here for the foreseeable future it would seem.

If we use him in the right way he can still be an asset to the club.

Use him in cups, Europe & if we're chasing a game & we need a change of style.

He's never going to score loads, but he will still have a use.

Mourinho did say the other day that they are "working on new things" and aiming to get torres and costa in the team together. To be fair, aside from the absolutely stinking 2-yard miss the other day, torres looked alright.

 

never know what might happen... its fair to say that the majority of torres' goals at liverpool came from through balls that he could run on to from gerrard / alonso so maybe, just f**king maybe with cesc playing clever passes that split a defence then it makes torres' life much easier and negates any requirement for him to actually beat a man, which has never been his strong point.

 

he'll never hold it up and bring others into play but there is a faint glimmer of hope that with someone as excellent as fabregas picking him out that he could end up having a better than average season.

Torres would do a decent job in the 3 behind the striker for when we need to be more direct, and not run sideways

I will be ecstatic if he goes but if he stays I will support him a so have for the past 3 and a half years. The plus side is our opinion of his playing skills couldn't get any worse so the only way is up!

Torres doesnt have the nuts to take a shot on anymore, its very strange.

He would rather do an John Obi style pass to someone else, to completely defer any responsibility.

He needs to get his act together.
