Ash & twitter

Featured Replies

Calling the FA a bunch of twats on Twitter maybe not his greatest moment, but will probably give Ryan Bertrand a few games

I hate twitter with a passion, but I love the fact that Ash has come out straight away and told the FA what they are. If they do him for having an opinion different to theirs serious questions should be asked.

The FA are fast becoming a joke.

Indeed, the FA are claiming he lied under oath and used that to support finding against Terry.

They had access to the same evidence as the CPS and the judge. The Judge said that Cole had been a good witness under tough circumstances.

God I hope Ashley sues them.

FA breaking their own rules yet again huh? He was just as much in earshot as Anton Ferdinand and had far less to gain by standing up for his captain in the way that he did. What a hideous, corrupt institution full of liars and scumbags. Makes me sick the extent to which they have twisted this to suit their own pathetic agenda. Ashley Cole is 100% right, yet again.

Pretty sure it would lead to a fine rather than a suspension, something about fines for off-field and suspensions for on-field incidents, may be wrong.

I took hope he sues them, we all know its petty bit the FA made it what it is. The criminal courts state he didn't say the words, the FA's own rules say whatever the criminal court find will be consider as fact. They find him guilty of saying the words.

How come no one in the media or anyone with power has pointed this out? Argh what am I missing?

He was only saying what everyone already knows about the FA and isnt questioning his integrety like the FA have done the same thing.....

I hope he retires from International team and sues the FA for slander, i think his reaction is understandable and perfectly legitimate, practically they are saying that he lied under oath, thats ridiculous that they can make these statements.

Next it will be the FA deciding on criminal cases and maybe even the economy!

Nah not yet, he's 2 games away from 100 caps. I still love England, but the F.A can go screw themselves.

Let's just hope that everything today doesn't distract us from tomorrow's game. It may be best to leave Cole out of tomorrow's game and play Bertrand.

That is a massive statement to make. In some countries it is possible to face charges for contempt of court.

@StanCollymore: Seems a couple of Prem players value their club shirt over their cultural identity. Sell outs.

This is what the football genious Stan Collimore has just twatted, another prick!

He seems to forget that Cole is British, wheter hes black or white doesnt matter, or maybe it matters only when it suits certain people

Collymore is such a bellend, so he wants Cole to have lied to look after his fellow "Black brother"?

Now that is a knob head, what is he on about ?, it's nothing to do with being black or white, it's to do with the F.A calling him a liar. Trust Stan Collymore to play the race card AGAIN.

Taken to a logical conclusion, and with the not unreasonable assumption that Collymore is referring to Ashley Cole and possibly Ryan Bertrand, that little quote is every bit as outrageous as Rio's "choc ice". The inference here is that Ashley Cole lied and that he did so to protect his team-mate rather than stand together with his mixed-race blood brother.

Alternatively Collymore could be interpreted as stating that Cole should have given his backing to the Ferdinand's cause no matter what the truth of the matter.

Either interpretation reeks.

god i hate collymore, stupid outburst by cole, whether he's in the right or not is kind of irrelevant here and he could get a ban, probably just a fine though

That tosser Darren Lewis just tweeted this too, the f**king moron.

Ash-tag gate clouding the issue. Main worry is FA panel view that racially abusing someone once is not as bad as doing it several times.

Take what I say with a grain of salt as though your legal system is the similar to Australia's it is a) not the same and b) I am not a lawyer.

I have a few questions. regarding oft cited Rule 6.8 that deals with the FA tribunal presuming the court case as true. Is it possible that the rule only applies to a case bearing the same burden of proof?

If we take the example of Player A and Player B. Player A commits a horrendous, career ending foul on Player B with deliberate intent. The FA look to charge Player A with violent conduct, however Player B is so injured and was so violently attacked that he presses criminal charges against Player A. The case goes to the criminal courts, where it is decided that, beyond reasonable doubt, Player A's actions were not criminally malicious (eg there was not sufficient intent). However, Player B then takes the matter to the civil courts, and sues Player A for loss of income and damages due to his injury.

Which case does the FA 'presume as true' then? Since the tribunal operates on the standard of balance of probabilties, can the FA only apply rule 6.8 to civil matters which use the same burden of proof?

Regarding Terry's case it was established during the criminal trial that he did in fact use the words/phrase "f**king black c**t". However the court could not be satisifed by the evidence of Ferdinand, a Youtube video and a lip reader that Terry actually said the words in an insulting fashion, beyond reasonable doubt of course.

However the FA has ruled that on the balance of things the testimony of Ferdinand and a lip reader is probably more truthful than the testimony of Cole and Terry.

Unless there is some evidence that we in the public sphere are missing, I still find it a bizarre decision.

I am not sure the courts stated that JT didnt say those words.... actually I thought it was the exact oposite and that it was certain that he did say the words...Indeed JT has admitted all along that he did say the words- it was just that the proescutors in court couldnt prove beyond reasonable doubt that the words he spoke was spoken as racist abuse.

It is clear that JT is guilty of saying f**king Black c**t - it was the context that was being argued. Judge riddle also found JT's arguments far fetched, but couldnt prove it to a high enough standard....the FA only work to balance of probability, hence the guilty verdict.

Just tweeted Stan collymore, calling him a disgrace!

These high profile black, mixed race etc etc are doing more harm to race relations in this country than 99% of the 'white' population!
