Another twitter fail

Featured Replies

I didn't see the tweet, just his apology for swearing.

Poor Berty, gets called up to the England squad and its reported he's left due to a sore throat. The disappointment of losing his place & being thoroughly ill [if you read what's really up with him] has obviously just made him upset.

Hopefully the media won't make a big deal of it. Twitter is a great way for footballers/celebs to interact with fans, I know I love their post-match Tweets.

Nice reply here:-

His biog says he`s a national newspapr columnist. Classy.

A nice example of some genuine racism there.

The irony of this idiots tweet is shocking- refers to Ryan Bertrand as a Monkey and Ashley Cole as a 'choc-ice' in the same post as refering to Terry as a racist......... you couldn't make it up could you?

Scott Jones is self-confessed "QPR nut". What else do you expect from a QPR fan? Thickest fans in the Premiership bar none

Ah it's making a bit more sense now.

A self confessed 'QPR nut'

What a c**t.

Considering just how ridiculous these QPR fans are becoming nowadays, I think we should refrain from calling them c**ts, because that's really not fair to c**ts everywhere. They should have their own specific insult, such as Qunt. Though suggestions are of course welcome.

See nothing wrong with what Ryan wrote. Still, its bad timing on his part. Again, I just wish the club would pull twitter entirely from firstteamers.

Can anyone with twitter actually report this as racist abuse? I'm sick of this double standard regarding racism around these incidents.

Edit: someone already did, to the met police and the club, but more couldnt hurt I guess.

Isn't it enough to call them a QPR fan? I can't think of a worse insult.

Ryan not being charged with anything by the FA. Good job too because he didn't actually do anything. The media jumping all over his tweet and making a story out of nothing as usual.

Surely Ryan could report this to the police. If ever there was a racist tweet it's this one!

What did he apologise for? There was absolutely nothing wrong with what he wrote. So what if he swore?

Anyone who was "offended" by it obviously have no life worth talking about and have far bigger issues to be worried about than a footballer using a swear word on twitter.

Just read that he tweeted this

"Just to clarify.... Its not a "sore throat" Im ill. swollen glands in my neck... And constant headache for 3 days now and freezin cold."

After which he tweeted:

"Do you think a "sorethroat" could stop me being apart of a match for my club or country? #yourf******nuts this is what every boy dreams of."

If you put them both together the last one is even less "serious". I really can not see why people would get upset. The tweets are perfectly harmless. Unless you count the swearword, but the day footballers aren't allowed to swear on twitter (not counting words directed at someone) will be a sad day indeed.

The witch hunt on our players is spreading to genuinely innocuous situations.

No witch hunt...they are just stupid and to thick. CFC has a bullseye on its back and I am sure Roman is f**king delighted to have all this bad press. It's about time these players got their act together and grew up ffs....I'm getting tired of their antics which will damage this club...professional....they are professional f**king idiots is what they are.
