Sadly the light gun doesn't work on modern TVs though.

I think my old Nintendo is still at my parents house somewhere. Got rid of the N64 though.

It's a good deal even if you don't need the telly, you could sell it for about £300 meaning the Xbox would only have cost you about £170.

Out of interest, for people who already have xbones, is there any point paying the extra to get kinect? 

I use it all the time for commands, but I don't know if I would have missed it if I didn't have it. It's great for switching between games and apps, very useful for Skype.

I'm bound to end up getting one eventually, the difference in quality to the 360 is becoming more and more apparent now. The difference between the 2 versions of Forza horizon 2 is staggering and AC: Unity looks significantly better than the new 360 one (Rogue?).

I am gonna get one in the summer.

I was going to ask about the kinect. I have one for my 360 but dont use it. It was more of a gimick than anything useful. But there is more talk of the one for the xb1 being used in normal games.

The PS4 has better graphics and can get 1080p on some games (so I'm told). Is that a noticeable difference to the Xbox One? If it's a tiny difference it wouldn't influence me but graphics are still fairly important for me.

If graphics are fairly important to you I say go for the PS4. Most Xbox One games don't go up to 1080p whereas the majority of PS4 ones do. 

 

For example, the new COD is 1080p native on PS4, but the Xbox One is 900p believe. Not a massive difference, but it's there.

The 1080p thing for me is a complete misnomer, the fps is much more important. For instance sunset overdrive is 980p i think, but solid 30fps and its an incredible looking game. The only way you would notice a difference is if you played both side by side and had a top quality tv really. Me, I prefer to look at games for the enjoyment of playing rather than counting a few pixels, its ruining this new generation a bit. 

 

Uno, Kinnect has some more game integration but not a lot, but its a much more advanced bit of kit. Its more integrated in the UI though, loads more speech commands etc. I love that I have it set up so when I walk in it recognises me, turns on the tv and is ready to play the last game I was on with at exactly the same position. 

Thanks, both. I'm edging towards the PS4 despite enjoying the 360 currently. The PS4 just seems like the better gaming package. Other than Netflix and watching DVDs, I would only use it for gaming.

If its for gaming then its the same as ever, pick whichever system has the exclusives you fancy and the one your mates have. 

Getting an XBox One for the kids for Christmas, they want FIFA 15 (Ugh, hate paying full price for a game that will be 50p in about three years time lol), and Minecraft.

 

 

Not sure whether to get Kinect or not, had trouble with the old Kinect, as my sofa was too close to the TV, and we couldn't really play it properly, loved bowling on it though.

It works on a much shorter distance now I think.
