Cech don't lower yourself to that level.

Just saw a rumour that QPR have put in a bid for Cech.

Unless you saw it on Fifa on your Playstation I have a suspicion that this rumour will not turn out have substance to it.

Do you think he'll go there? I don't see him playing for a team lower than the top 6 or 7.

And please, anywhere but Arsenal or QPR.

Or spurs or West ham.

Didn't Cech's agent say there for were a "handful of clubs" that afford Cech and only a few that that he would want to play for.

Pretty sure that rules out QPR.

He has kept a club record 220 clean sheets. The previous record of 208 was set by Peter Bonetti in 1979 and, incredibly, Cech needed 272 fewer games than Bonetti to reach that landmark.

Enough said! Give him his start at the Bridge and send him wherever he wants to go as long as it is not in England... He deserves it and does not deserve to be treated like a pawn in the transfer window while sitting on the bench. Sad to see him go but sadder to see him on the bench.

Courtois has done noting to be dropped so he deserves to keep his place....

It's another stroke of genius from Mourinho. He wants to test the young keeper's mettle and what better way to do it than to play him in front of Cech. Courtois knows if he slips up or looks shaky, he'll be dropped in a heartbeat. All the pressure is on Thibaut. Cech is a loyal club servant and a professional. He'll be content on the bench for a time knowing he'll get the nod if Courtois can't handle the pressure. Mourinho gets to see how Courtois handles immense pressure without risking the league or a cup. If Courtois looks the part, Cech will leave in January or next summer. If he can't, Cech comes back in and we reevaluate our options. Everyone wins. Up the Chels.

Cech has done nothing to be dropped either. He arguably deserves a starting place more than Courtois.

Cech may have done nothing wrong but it seems clear Mourinho knows Courtois is the long-term solution and like we all said months ago, if he didn't make that difficult decision now, we risked losing the best young keeper around. So it's not really about Cech maybe deserving a starting place, it's all about building a side which will hopefully dominate for years to come.

QPR is now a team for players in their twilight years? Players who used to be good on the brink of retirement looking for one last big pay cheque.

Petr has years left at the top. The tippity top! One of the top three keepers in the world. He'd make it into any other team bar Munich.

Granted, but it's a bit silly to go on about Cortouis deserving to not be dropped when clearly it means nought as established by the exclusion of Cech.

How is it?

You can't just drop a keeper you want to keep at the club for many years on the basis of sentiment.

What message does that send out to Courtois if he is suddenly dropped for no reason? I doubt Jose would do that.

He's already made it clear who the number 1 is and unless he makes a huge error then he should be keeping his place.

Cech was the beneficator years ago when the same happened to him.

I, and I hope you, don't believe that Cech starting would be based purely on sentiment. Hows about still being one of the worlds best who didn't deserve to lose his place?

My point was though, that Cech didn't deserve to be dropped either. And the fact that he DID, indicates that there is zero consideration for who 'deserves' to start or not. If it was based on who 'deserved' it, Cech would have started against Burnely.

Cudicini -> Cech is a massive upgrade compared to Cech -> Cortouis which is a side grade at best imo. Ones a no brainer, ones a thread that's almost at 70 pages.

Jose said his decision was based on the future of the Chelsea team and HE thinks Courtois is the future. SO that's why he started and that's why he should be continue to be played especailly since he's done nothing to warrant being dropped.

Remember Cech was rusty having not played the final few months of the season while Courtois was playing ever week and during the world cup so again it made sence he started as he's clearly the most up to speed keeper we have at this point.

If you think we are going to just switch the keepered match to match then you are much mistaked, Courtois is Chelsea's no 1 and Jose stands by his decisions (see Real Madrid for example).

I love Cech and hope he stays but that being said he shouldn't start unless Courtois does something to warrant being dropped...which he hasnt.

Tough one. Honestly beyond Neuer and at a stretch Lloris (Buffon is fading) it's hard to think of too many keepers better. Both are consistent and top 5 in the world. I do agree that the contract situation has a bit to do with why Courtois started.

Down to Courtois to prove he deserves to be picked like Dave did over Ash last season. If he doesn't Cech will deliver the same high standard he has delivered for 10 seasons.

How can you say it wasn't ?

Because one was proven tried and tested in England while the other was coming from Europe with not nearly as much expierence.

It's not as one sided as you are trying to make out.
