I doubt they, Everton, have £24 million cash on deposit in the bank. My guess would be , if the rumour is right,they would want to pay it over say three years , Chelsea will say no all has to be paid over two years and they will finally agree over two years with x% interest added on top.

I wont go into the merit or otherwise of selling the player but if the figures are right, in terms of what we paid for him and what is reported as Everton being prepared to pay for him, and also the fact that Everton and possibly WBA have paid a fairly decent fee to have him on loan, then we would be looking at a sizeable chunk of his fee being pure profit.

Jose mentioned he wants another English player in the squad and all signs would point to bamford. Would make sense

Lukaku going to Everton leaves us one injury away to Costa from a f**king disaster. Imagine another hamstring issue and being forced to watch Torres, a-f**king-gain, starting games without even a f**king grain of merit in sight.

 

Wondering if that were the case, would Drogba be the next in line to start games? And if so, do we want a 36 year old to be leading the line week in week out in Costa's potential absence?

There is no way we have paid anything like £18 million for Lukaka more like £10. I doubt we have had to pay much, if anything yet by way of add ons as he has played so few games for us.

 

I just have a feeling that one of the goalkeepers will leave and either Jamal will be promoted or we will bring in an English keeper. I cant see Schwarzer leaving as he has just signed a one year deal . I just cant help but feel Petr will be sold.

 

I am sure JM is well aware of the issue with regard to strikers and of course the squad balance between HG and NHG .

 

Part of the press frenzy surrounding Lukaka leaving is messages coming out of Everton and of course what is said to have gone on last season but I am not sure that the ink is anywhere near dry on the transfer documents and as the player is just about due to join up with the squad in Holland I wouldn't be surprised if the next we hear is he has signed a contract extension and is returning to fight for his place

Signing a 36 year old and selling a 21 year old, all in a week's work at Chelsea. 

 

I love Drogba to bits but he will score nowhere near as many goals as Lukaku will this season. I'll take bets, heck even throw in Torres too.

Well glad to see he fought hard for a spot in the first team regardless of the names ahead of him, I hope he does well in his Everton career which I am sure will be full of trophies and medals, a very confident and ambitious young man who wants to play with and learn from world class players. 

If Everton do buy they have to pay the whole fee that season , they cant spread the payment over 3 years as it is against PFA rules .
