June 7, 201412 yr You would if you were doing a damn fine job and desevred a raise. You don't get what you want in life without speaking up. Lukaku doesn't fall under that category though, he has to prove himself at Chelsea not just out on loan. He needs to learn to be patient and not think he has the right to be automatic first choice.
June 7, 201412 yr He should look up to Schurrle as a role model. He has fought for his place and scored goals.
June 7, 201412 yr I wish he would shut up and actually fight for his place. I totally agree and I think Jose was getting fed up of his constant moaning!
June 7, 201412 yr Funny how when he first came here, he said he always loved Chelsea and wants to become a Chelsea legend...staying here forever, etc. Now when he gets loaned out to prove himself, he complains and says he wants to leave...right. he's just a bit of an immature prick really. Don't need that nonsense at Chelsea.
June 7, 201412 yr he's just a bit of an immature prick really. Don't need that nonsense at Chelsea. Spot on Zola, I've changed my mind on him after these recent comments, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but now I just think f**k him. He clearly doesn't have the balls to try and fight for his place. Seems to want everything handed to him. Edited June 7, 201412 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
June 7, 201412 yr He should look up to Schurrle as a role model. He has fought for his place and scored goals. But he hasn't been given a chance at Chelsea! Demba Ba & Torres are given chance after chance & Lukaku is given nothing. Let's not forget either that Torres has time & time again complained & mouthed off about players & managers while he has been at Chelsea. He can't prove himself at Chelsea if he is never given a fair shot, which he hasn't got after three years here.

Lukaku was the one who asked to go out on loan, if he's not willing to stat and fight then why should he be given a chance? You have to take tour chances when they come like Apzi and Schurrle.
June 7, 201412 yr Even Torres has kept his counsel when left out of the side Should keep this Torres bloke on, sounds like someone who doesn't mouth off, exactly what we need in a striker.
June 7, 201412 yr Would prefer to hear that he's looking forward to the challenge of winning his place in our starting XI instead of saying he's putting himself in the shop window to leave.
June 8, 201412 yr He limped off late in their match with Tunisia. Would hate from a neutral standpoint, and as a fan of the player & the Belgium side, for him to be out of the tournament. This finals, more than ones previous, seems like it will be missing lots of quality players due to injuries.
June 8, 201412 yr I'm just confused given the amount of complaining on here about selling Sturridge, that so many people want to sell someone who is younger and better than him. Will the same people be complaining if he's sold and turns out to be as good as he has already shown?
June 8, 201412 yr Spot on Zola, I've changed my mind on him after these recent comments, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but now I just think f**k him. He clearly doesn't have the balls to try and fight for his place. Seems to want everything handed to him. Exactly. I too was hoping to see him have a go at it next season after a good season at Everton. I had hoped that it would settle him down and matured him somewhat, but again, he opens his mouth and makes it obvious that he has no interest in playing for the team and fighting for his spot. If he doesn't buck his ideas up, man up and put his big boy trousers on, he can just f**k off basically. Hard to give someone a chance who keeps f**king off on loan... Another valid point. How can Jose determine how well he plays with the team if he's not here? I don't blame Jose for wanting to get some proven forwards in this summer. He can't be expected to gamble on an immature little boy like Lukaku when he can't afford another season without silverware (let's face it, we all know what Roman is like). Also takes time to fully assess the team and how he would fit. He's delusional if he thought he would come back and automatically be placed as first choice. He'll wind up at Valencia next season I reckon.

Will the same people be complaining if he's sold and turns out to be as good as he has already shown? Well lets not twist words here, nobody wants to sell Lukaku based on ability. Some are merely saying that if he doesnt feel like putting in the work at the club and keeps moaning about how he should be an automatic starter then maybe its best for all parties if he moved on.
June 8, 201412 yr Even Torres has kept his counsel when left out of the side Don't you remember his interview after the CL final
June 8, 201412 yr Didn't Sturridge leave for similar reasons? I just wonder whether the club can't manage these young up and coming players in a better way. Top strikers tend to have big egos that need to be massaged. Edited June 8, 201412 yr by Blue Charm
June 8, 201412 yr Don't you remember his interview after the CL final Don't you remember his interview after the CL final Yep...it was bad, but I was referring more to Torres under Jose.....Lukaku handed in a transfer request last august and has not shut up since...anyway, I'd love chelsea to use him to get Everton to agree a deal for Barkley...would rather he was our no.10 than Oscar to be honest Edited June 8, 201412 yr by The Brit
June 8, 201412 yr Definitely. Especially after his solid performance for England today. Only player who was switched on besides Gary Cahill, who put in some nice blocks.

He deserves a chance, let him put his money where his mouth is, he's at least earned that, and if he starts a few games and plays sh*te i'm sure he'll pipe down, but he's cocky at the moment because he's succeeded everywhere he's gone. If we sell him and he goes on to become a top class striker (which is almost certain), then it will be us with egg on our faces (again), not him. Edited June 8, 201412 yr by Jonty
June 8, 201412 yr Would love to see us make him the alternative choice to Costa next season, so long as he signs a new deal. If he does not sign, we have little choice but to sell him now or see him leave for peanuts later.

Will the same people be complaining if he's sold and turns out to be as good as he has already shown? Sorry but I don't see how Lukaku is better than Sturridge, I didn't see Lukaku get as many gials as he dud last season or a spot on team of the year

Problem with that logic is the message it sends out to everyone else in the squad when they're not playing too...moan like a bitch and you get back in the team...Jose will look a weak coach and will have problems all over the place
