June 16, 201412 yr Agreed. I think most of us hope he has a good one because it will help his case but if not then we will get the biggest transfer offer we can. As the above poster pointed out it's in his hands really with this 2 years left...we won't be loaning out again if he doesn't sign a new deal, he will be sold. absolutely this.
June 16, 201412 yr I hope he finished top goal scorer so we can get over 30 million for him. I hope he finishes top scorer and comes back to Chelsea. Then goes on to score 15-20 goals for us next year.
June 16, 201412 yr I hope he finished top goal scorer so we can get over 30 million for him. And what chelsea gonna do with the money? We need good players (which lukaku is one) not money. We have plenty of that.
June 16, 201412 yr And what chelsea gonna do with the money? We need good players (which lukaku is one) not money. We have plenty of that. Exactly. This is spot on. You're not going to find a better striker in the world right now, at the age of 21.
June 16, 201412 yr I fail to see how, if Mourinho wants to keep him, we won't see him in a Chelsea shirt next year and beyond. All Mourinho has to do is sit down and tell him he's in his plans and this is what he wants from him and. There will be no dramas. Wouldn't mind seeing him make a statement by ditching Torres though.
June 16, 201412 yr Whats wrong with waiting until the WC has finished and then deciding what to do ? The WC is a great opportunity to view players competing at the highest level against each other. You'd be stupid to make any rash decisions before viewing the market.
June 16, 201412 yr So why doesn't Lukaku just say "I loved my time at Everton, I am looking forward to the World Cup then coming back to Chelsea the club I always wanted to play for, to prove to Jose and the fans I deserve to play for the club closest to my heart." Because he wants out because like De Bruyne he thinks he is bigger than Chelsea Football Club and is not prepared or believe he should fight for his place.

Thank you for telling us what lukaku thinks.
June 17, 201412 yr Lukakus first touches have been poor. Performance so far nothing to write home about Edited June 17, 201412 yr by Wolv
June 17, 201412 yr I don't think he has what it takes to start week in week out got us. I've noticed when he played at Everton he didn't do the job we require from a striker, he's more of a poacher. Will always be an impact player I feel. Now I would like to have him back next season as we need someone who can get those sorts of goals from the bench.
June 17, 201412 yr I think if we continue to utilize 4-2-3-1 he is not our guy. If we revert to 4-3-3 he'd be much more dangerous. Interesting to see whether Cesc has anything to do with anything regarding to Lukaku's situation.
June 18, 201412 yr If Lukaku had the mobility of Drogba and a good first touch then could go on to be a great striker. As he is right now he will never go on to be one of the best.
June 18, 201412 yr Could come though, don't think at 21 Drogba was all that if I remember. Was he not 23-24 before he played at a decent level?
June 18, 201412 yr If Lukaku had the mobility of Drogba and a good first touch then could go on to be a great striker. As he is right now he will never go on to be one of the best. At 21 he is miles ahead of drogba at 21. Yeah he might be a player that peaks early and never really hits the heights expected of him, but if he's not and he keeps improving for another 8 years, my god will he be good!!!
June 19, 201412 yr At 21 he is miles ahead of drogba at 21. Yeah he might be a player that peaks early and never really hits the heights expected of him, but if he's not and he keeps improving for another 8 years, my god will he be good!!! Eh. Drogba at 21 had only been a professional for like 3 years or something. A great deal of footballers were probably better than Drogba at that age. Drogba is one of the few mythical 'late bloomers'. Lukaku has been playing since 16 already. Edited June 19, 201412 yr by Stim

Why don't you judge him in a chelsea shirt, that's what you have told everyone to do with costa. I noticed your post came off the back of Lukaku's performance against Algeria, I hope your not over reacting based off 1 game in the world cup?

Yeah he might be a player that peaks early and never really hits the heights expected of him, but if he's not and he keeps improving for another 8 years, my god will he be good!!! Lukaku isn't Drogba though, just because Lukaku is better than Drogba was at an early age doesn't mean Lukaku will be better than Drogba in his prime.
June 19, 201412 yr Drogba was a fighter, he had the mental strengh to become better and worked hard to become better. I just dont see that in Lukaku. I see someone who either believes he is a whole lot better than he actually is or someone who is afraid of competition. Either way a player like that wont make it at a top world class team because there will always be other players there fighting for a spot in the team.
June 22, 201412 yr Author Vincent Kompany Defends Romelu Lukaku “Romelu has a tremendous amount of talent, and for us it’s about not putting pressure on a 21-year-old kid to do it for us at a World Cup,”“A lot of other people will take the responsibility. He is only 21 so he probably has two or more World Cups left, so there is no pressure on his shoulders.“If he performs well for us we will be happy, but the most important thing is he puts in his performance for the benefit of the group and he’ll be okay.” ________________________________________________________________________ Well said Kompany. And a timely reminder for anyone who considers that Lukaku is not good enough for Chelsea and never will be good enough for Chelsea. Lukaku is only 21, he has a tremendous amount of talent, and has the potential to go on to do great things. My hope is that he will go on to achieve this potential wearing a Chelsea shirt.
June 22, 201412 yr Still insanely young when you consider he's had 2 very good seasons already in the EPL.
June 22, 201412 yr Still insanely young when you consider he's had 2 very good seasons already in the EPL. Ya a 21 year old who has outplayed any striker we have had the last two years and people still don't want him here.
June 22, 201412 yr Ya a 21 year old who has outplayed any striker we have had the last two years and people still don't want him here. I understand concerns about attitude BUT the difference a few years make at this stage in his life are massive. 16-24 mentally, each year is a massive change in terms of attitude, work ethic, dreams. How many of is thought we'd change the world at 18-21 then by the time you hit 25 you realise what actually makes you tick.
