Outside Mertens, Belgium hasn't done much as a team. They really struggle getting the ball to Lukaku. He has to come back into the midfield to even touch it.

Why because he made some comments that may more may not be true to the media? Because he has played well the last two seasons and wants to be the guy at Chelsea, and hasn't been given a chance?

People say Lukaku hasn't played well at the cup and yet say nothing about how Costa was the biggest waste of time for Spain. (He did manage to get one head butt in though in his two games)

Fans want some Chelsea youth to succeed and yet we continue to sell off our most promising youth players. The Chelsea youth management is a joke. José's youth philosophy is a joke. And some fans are delusional thinking that every move Jose makes is right.

Interestingly they were raising the same concerns I have about his game. These are things that can and will improve of course, but it's a clear example that he can't be our only option. If it's him and Costa rotating we'll be set I feel. 

 

Costa is better at holding up the ball and being in the box, so he'll likely be used in the games where we'll have less space and Lukaku much like Torres likes it in behind and running at defenses. A similar rotation to Eto'o and Torres last season, but with better players and a better midfield in Matic and Fabregas. I think we'll do very well.

Lukkaku not looking too happy on the bench. He was disappointing today so don't know why he is seemingly mad at the manager.

Lot of Chelsea fans i spoke to last season were calling for Lukaku to be our main striker, and that Jose made a mistake sending out to Everton. I think these games watching him play for Belgium have been interesting because i think it gives us a bit for of an idea of how he might find it at Chelsea. Belgium have played against teams so far at least who have been defensive, which is what is going to face about 80% of the time at Chelsea.

His hold up play with back to goal is a massive worry, and he finds it very hard to impose himself on a game if isolated.

Agree, he simply doesnt use his physicality enough, he should be dominating and bullying defenders yet seems easily taken out of a game.
