June 7, 201412 yr Am fed up of his entitlement and constantly hearing about how he deserves his shot to be main man. He's scored 32 in 66 the last two seasons. Rickie Lambert has scored 28 in 75 with 20 assists. Benteke's scored 29 in 60. Before joining us Demba Ba scored 29 in 54 for Newcastle. His performances while out on loan don't mean he's the second coming. I think you should watch another sport as it seems football is not for you if you lump Lukaku with those players.
June 7, 201412 yr If the paper talk is true, and he has said that, then there is no place for him here. Jose doesn't tolerate that attitude. Would have been nice for him to make something of himself here.
June 7, 201412 yr Yep, but that requires effort and patience. Something Lukaku clearly doesn't possess. There are far too many sources discussing this now for it not to be true.
June 7, 201412 yr I think you should watch another sport as it seems football is not for you if you lump Lukaku with those players. He's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and nowhere near as good as some think he is. He'd be a good 2nd choice striker for us. He thinks that's beneath him. I think playing first team football from aged 16 has warped him.
June 7, 201412 yr Let's look at some other clubs. If Mourinho had dropped Ibrahimovic at inter, or Eto'o, do you think that Ibra would not complain every other week? Lukaku has been doing what you expect every world class potential striker to have been doing. It's the same way you hear Sturridge complaining that he wanted to be used as the central striker at Chelsea and know he doesn't seem to be having a problem now, does he? It's Lukaku's character; it's not poisonous in the dressing room if you nurture it properly. There are plenty of other managers with bad players i.e the likes of Prandelli have a bunch of dickheads to take care of (Cassano, Balotelli are their strikers) and Italy are doing absolutely fine with those two. I do think we'd have got Lukaku to start eventually last season, but with a world cup place yes he was right to force a move, guy is ridiculous now. I think we should tell him that he's an important player and mean it, not like how Mourinho said that De Bruyne was important and would be used the next season. Even if he doesn't do it in the media, just give Lukaku a phone call and tell him his position, reassure him a place. It's not even as if Lukaku won't do a job out wide, he did it for Everton at times this season, if you can get a guy to respect you, even if he has a perceived poisonous character you can get him to do what you want. How do you think that Lukaku is supposed to feel when he's doing great and the manager of his club is undermining his achievements with backhanded comments? I like Mourinho, but him and Lukaku do not seem compatible, if Lukaku was 4 years older and he had been playing games regularly for Chelsea however they'd be best of friends and we know that. If we want to win the title, we need to keep Lukaku, otherwise we're going to come 3rd again. What if Costa gets injured -- or burnt out? Or banned? I like how some people are so adamant that, if he goes to another club he'll then have the same kind of issues that he has here. Or, there's another way of looking at it: He goes to another club, the manager nurtures him/managers him quite well and he bangs 20+ goals a season? Not saying Mourinho won't be able to do that but let's see. Edited June 7, 201412 yr by MANoWAR
June 7, 201412 yr I'm assuming we admit to a mistake in selling the other headstrong kid to that lot on Merseyside? Some time we have to admit that strikers tend not to flourish here, and I'm worried our latest acquisition will just be another goal machine gone stale. Had we bought Gerrard and Alonso along with Torres, things might have turned out differently.
June 7, 201412 yr It's a bit boring with Lukaku now, I'm at a point where I don't give a toss what he does.
June 7, 201412 yr I think you should watch another sport as it seems football is not for you if you lump Lukaku with those players. I think what he is saying is that just because he scored goals at another club it doesn't mean he should just come back and expect to be the main striker. He isn't saying that those players are any better just that Lukaku needs to prove himself here first.

Not saying Mourinho won't be able to do that but let's see. 1. You mention Balotelli as a d**khead. He never once moaned publicly about not being first choice at City and he's a lot more talented than Lukaku is. 2. We don't need Lukaku to win the title. He'd be quite easily replaceable if sold.
June 7, 201412 yr I am tired of his moaning but to be fair if we end up keeping Ba and Torres ahead of him then he has every right.
June 7, 201412 yr 1. You mention Balotelli as a d**khead. He never once moaned publicly about not being first choice at City and he's a lot more talented than Lukaku is. 2. We don't need Lukaku to win the title. He'd be quite easily replaceable if sold. Lukaku didn't have Aguero Tevez and Dzeko infront of him he has flipping Torres and Demba Ba and he's better than both. Agreed we dont need Lukaku to win the title but he would be a big help, the guy scores goals all different types aswell. I cant see many strikers his age (just turned 21) scoring the amount of goals he has in the last 2 seasons.

If he believed he was better than both then he should have stuck around and earned his way in. Fair enough he was in a battle with Benteke so wanted to guarantee himself football before the World Cup but that's not the case this summer. If he rates himself as highly as he seems to then he should back himself and stick around next season to prove it.
June 7, 201412 yr I don't either to be honest! Players should just keep their mouth shut, get their head down and get on with what they're paid to do just like in any other profession. You wouldn't get away with running your mouth to your manager if you were working a 9 - 5 job. As long as he goes to a foreign club and we get paid well for him, I couldn't give a toss anymore. He's a young man behaving like a petulant little boy.
June 7, 201412 yr I dont think its anything to do with Lukaku talking out in the press i just get the feeling he doesn't rate Lukaku as a player that highly.

June 7, 201412 yr I'm glad we have so many people on here that can interpret what Lukaku means as opposed to what he actually says. Guess you are missing the part where everyone is saying "if these comments are true" For the record I think they are because this is not the first time we are hearing comments like this.
June 7, 201412 yr I dont think its anything to do with Lukaku talking out in the press i just get the feeling he doesn't rate Lukaku as a player that highly. The speaking doesn't help, but Jose will rate him fairly on what he sees. Lukaku at the beginning of the season scored some goals for West Brom and he was behind Shane Long in the pecking order. His touch was outrageously poor and he regularly made poor decisions. He has now improved a bit but absolutely no coach in any top side would have him as his number one. He is very good for a 21 yr old. And just good if you disregard age. I'm not too fussed if we sell him and replace him with someone better.
June 7, 201412 yr Would be a huge decision to let him go but it's an even huger decision to make him number one. He does talk too much, all the Belgians are, but they're incredibly talented nonetheless. Personally I'd like Costa, Lukaku and dare I say it Torres for next season.
June 7, 201412 yr The thing I find most troubling is how much drama and bad mouthing this is putting out there considering it is "news item" found in the rumor sections...lets hope Lukaku has an amazing World Cup and proves off the bat that he's ready to lead for CFC regardless of a potential costa transfer. He is our player and we should back him till proven otherwise. Not like he went off on loan and scored a 5 or 6 goals still hyping himself as "good enough" for chelsea. And to add one more final thought- if he wasn't a chelsea player wouldn't his goal record and performances in the pl lead us to try to sign him?! I would think so
June 7, 201412 yr Not interested in what he's been quoted as saying. The facts are, if we really wanted to keep him and make him feel wanted, we could give him a shirt number, and start talking about him in our plans for next season. Eden got #10, and Jose talks about using Costa and Fabregas next season. Lukaku is probably watching all this going on and feeling a little left out. Seeing as this has not happened, I can only assume 1 of the following. 1. He is not in our plans for next season. 2. We are waiting to see what happens after the WC, with players becoming available for transfer talk, we would be stupid to go and promise him anything, not until we have looked at the market post WC. June 7, 201412 yr Funny how when he first came here, he said he always loved Chelsea and wants to become a Chelsea legend...staying here forever, etc. Now when he gets loaned out to prove himself, he complains and says he wants to leave...right.
