I am and it is actually the third. I learned Slovakian in elementary school for 8 years but I never used it after so I forgot almost all of it. We started English in the fourth grade, we were the first who could choose between Russian and English (that was in 1990).

I have to say though, reaching an acceptable level in English is not hard at all (as opposed to say, German or Slavic languages where you really have to grapple with the grammar rules before you can use the language). Mastering English is bloody tough however, supposing that one would like to improve. But if you care then there are countless possibilities to do so, I learned a lot on the Shed End too :) Moi sometimes makes me reach for the dictionary, for example, and that's great. When that happens you can bet your house that I use that word in a couple of emails in the following weeks during my work :D

 

 

See, that's a sign of intelligence - going out of your way to use an expression in order to incorporate it into your working vocabulary.  You are a scholar and a gentleman, Undertow!  (which is a lot more than Rio Ferdinand is!)

My biggest struggle is to keep using proper British English as my first teacher drilled us to because most of the time I hear and read American English (those damn movies and tv series). Sadly my pronunciation has already deteriorated quite a lot.

Hahahaha brilliant. If you look at QPR's Twitter account where they announce the ban and say it's "subject to an appeal", almost all the replies are either "Yes!" or "Don't appeal please!" etc etc.

 

He could have retired after 12/13 in glory, instead he had a season which couldn't have gone much worse with Moyes, went to QPR and got dropped and lost any respectability he had left with this ban and his awful autobiography.

 

I just pray MOTD or Sky don't hire old Camel face.

Yep. It was sh*te (apart from a set-up involving two fit lingerie models that was watchable). I can't even bring myself to find it on Youtube. It would be too f**king painful to see again.
