Don't know if true but was in HLN here in Belgium.

Vermaelen has been awful this season, but a decent player for the previous 2. I wouldn't be against him in the squad at the right price. Would prefer to take a punt on Okore & hope Ake can progress.

As for Vermaelen, some of his goals last year clouded his defensive performances which were really rather dire. He's also the same age as Cahill and older than Luiz.

Vermaelen is too mentally weak to play at a high level consistently. Don't need Arsenal's psychological fragility infiltrating our squad. And besides, I don't think he's really any better than any of our CB's.

Would be a good signing but his wages are through the roof. He is currently on something like 220k a week so where ever he goes next you would expect him to want more than that. I mean if you got rid of Torres and Malouda and other dead wood like Yossi then perhaps we could balance the books and if Frank did leave then he would make a good replacement but i cant see it happening.

No way I want a 29 year old midfielder given a £250k a contract, especially as they aren't offering Frank a new deal.

 

I would be very surprised if we were interested in truth considering his age, our transfer policy now seems more geared towards signing players under the age of 25.

Update , Lukaku wants to play at WC in Brazil next year , since Chelsea can't guarantee playing time he wants a loan again next season.

One can see how this all works......Players bought n sold for first team.....Very good players bought reasonably cheaply PURELY to sell for huge profit eventually....Youngsters brought through that would get first team play anywhere else , readied for sale at a later date
