Terry and the full kit thing

Featured Replies

Can't help but cringe a small bit for Terry disappearing (again) last night only to reemerge in the full kit for the photos.

We were led to believe it was a UEFA requirement last year, but it's clearly not the case as there were players in tracksuits and Demba was in a full suit.

Whilst I feel for him not being able to play in either final, I don't think he should have gotten into his full kit, shin guards and all! As much as I love what he has done on the pitch for us over the years, I feel this was a small bit desperate...especially after the stick he got last year for it!

Would you have a look back on your career dressed like a misfit on the pictures of all big events, although you played in the whole campaign but not the final?

Certainly not!

He's our captain and he wasnt the only one. If this is the only negative the papers can find to mock us so let them.

Wayne Rooney went on with a fullkit + boots like he had been playing so its not only JT even if the media seem to have forgot that already.

The man loves the club with a passion, when u have cried infront of 40000ish of your own supporters because you feel you have let them down. Or have been carried off on a stretcher due to being kicked in the head while at work, THAT qualifies you to feel passionate enough about your club to make you run off like a little kid get dressed up in your kit complete with shinpads and go and celebrate with your team mates and fans. PASSION IS A GREAT LEVELLER.

If you really want to feel slightly weirded out by a players actions then watch obi mikel snatch the trophy from Frank.

f**k that. whats wrong with him wearing the kit with pride?

and why terry gets singled out i have no idea (well i have an inkling) when other players of ours did the same thing last year and last night. and didnt united players also do it last weekend?

why this keeps getting brought up as if it's actually an issue is bewildering to me

Good points!

Last season they all did it didn't they?

Lamps wanted Terry to lift the trophy with him, and I think there's some kind of rule or stipulation that anyone wanting to lift the trophy have no choice but to wear a kit.

I think I read that earlier...but maybe not...I could be imagining it.

Yeah, but Rooney goes out shopping like that too, wears the away kit for going out clubbing

He played a big part in our cup run last year and he played a big part in it this year. He has every right to be in his kit. Demba was wearing a suit but thats because he took no part in our run at all. His only participation in the Europa League was for Newcastle

Yeah, I saw that. I was like "what the hell is he doing". Even when Terry and Lampard were lifting the trophy he tried to grab it. Was it not him and Bosingwa that ruined the trophy lifting of the UCL last year?

Yes

Can't believe any Chelsea fans actually care?!

Various players did it in Munich and various players did it last night but only JT makes the headlines because the JT hating media sheep will lap it up all day long.

In a space of 48 hours where a Premiership player has been arrested for rape more people are intersted in putting the boot into JT for daring to celebrate a trohpy that he had a hand in winning. What he chooses to wear is of no concern to me what so ever!

Thats your input? and actually he was i kinda gave that away in the part where i said *QUOTE* complete with shinpads

Was he? How do you know?

I specifically remember him saying he wasn't weraing shin pads in an interview regarding the Munich celebrations where he openly admitted he had received a lot of stick for it but laughed about it.
