Was a huge mistake letting Lukaku go out on loan. This game was crying out for him

Cech 7 Decent saves, maybe slightly at fault for the goal

 

Ivanovic 6 Defended well enough, still frustrating going forward for me. Missed one or two headed half-chances 

Terry  6 Solid enough.

Luiz 5 At fault for the goal. It's great when they come off, but the surging runs he made today often resulted in overhit/unrealistic passes.

Cole 4 Poor delivery going forward, was isolated in defence.

 

Mikel 8 Made some vital interventions and was cool with the ball.

Ramires 6 Energy as usual, sloppy in possession for the goal

 

Mata 7 Seemed fine to me, unlucky to be subbed

Hazard 5 Nice touches but frustrating end product

Schurrle 5 Two decent chances missed

 

Eto'o 5 Started brightly and wasn't anonymous, but seemed to fade.

Cech - 7 - Saved everything that came at him and deflected parrys into good positions, and would have had to have made a superhero effort to do anything about the goal.

Mikel - 7 - Strong performance in the grand scheme of things.

Rami - 6 - Not bad, couldn't convert his one good chance, but wasn't very wasteful.

Hazard - 5 - Double/treble teamed all evening.  Hardly got a sniff as a result.

Mata - 6 - Looked a little rusty.  Nice idea, although un-Mata like execution on the chipped shot.

Schurlle - 6 - Bright in points, but lacking in final product.

Eto'o - 5 - Rusty, missed one glorious chance, started drifting away from the centre on occasion.

Torres - 4 - Made Eto'o look like he had a strong debut.  Miss kicked a good chance and could have made a better run to the left when Eto'o was running at their defender in the 2 on 3 situation that we had where Eto'o couldn't beat has man for pace.

 

JM - 6 - I thought the team selection included too much of a change from last time - although he was fairly quick to make subs to try and change the game.  Most of the fault for the loss was due to player error and sloppiness, rather than inability to adapt by the management.

Agree with most of that however I would give cole 3 if youre gonna give torres 4. It may sound harsh but he had a nightmare and his lack of a right foot put his fellow defenders under pressure on more than one occasion in my opinion.
