I dont think Mandzukic be a good fit for us because we dont dominate possession, unless we are planning on rehauling our midfield significantly.

If you had to pick three strikers who we could realistically sign in the summer who would you go for?

 

On the possession thing, I do think that at the start of the season the original game plan was to play a possession based game but when we went through a bad spell in November Jose ditched the play style in favour of a more direct, counter attacking game.

 

Depending on who we sign in the summer we might revert back to a possession based style, who knows. If we are doing that though I think we need another central midfielder to partner Matic because our current options aren't suited to that game.

End of the day i think it will be Costa. Atletico need money, Costa has a release clause, they wont win any trophies this season (or the next one for that matter), we can double his wages . . .

Mourinho definitely recognizes the need for a top striker and I think Costa fits his criteria perfectly. It will be done before the WC starts

His work rate and harrassment in closing down defenders, with back to goal he takes a lot of shoving of the ball, dominates defenders physically and is an instinctive finisher. Just a shame he`s a bit of a bellend. But I suppose he would be our bellend.

I wasn't and probably still am not sold on Costa but if he's the only one available then we have to take it.

What if Balotelli became a true gentlemen and became Sir Balotelli and put all the crazy theatrics behind him then started drinking vintage wine and wearing monocles.

I'm still unconvinced about Balotelli, didn't Milan have to assign him a minder to stop him getting into trouble? He is undeniably talented, but he is childish and cocky, which could cause us nothing but headaches.

I wouldn't compare costa to drogba, yes he's hard working and loves the physical side, but drogba was streaks ahead of him in all departments.

Im not convinced with costa at all, I think he lacks that x factor, where the very best strikers can win a game out of nothing, and I think costa relies too heavily on good service for the current system we play, and the money it would take to sign him.

I agree, we need a creative genius up front with a good work rate and finishing. Its not all about speed. I still think Mario Mandzukic would be a good idea. Watching Munich's win the other night, he showed his keen eye for goal with an excellent finish.

He also falls back to help his team aswell. Unlike a lot of strikers who hang around the midfield too much.

I'd cry if we could swap them today....tears of joy that would be.

I'd sooner have Hernandez to Torres. Not sure how much of his contract is still active at Utd but they're absolute arseholes when it comes to transfers. Expect rivals to sell them players but refuse to do the same in return.

I'd love to see him in blue more than Torres. I mean it when I say that I want him gone at the end of the season. Not worth his wages at all.
